So getting this one rolling. I know Tom can't make Saturdays, but it looks like Sunday may be raining. Subject to good weather predictions for Sunday, we could change to Sunday, or do both days!

In the meantime, while the big sunny blob on the forecast is only set for Saturday, who's game?

The Touch Down Cafe at;
Wellesbourne Aerodrome
Loxley Road

Warwick

If you're up for a ride. I've been there a couple of times before.

Ok sailing has been sh*tcanned due to lack of volunteers so I'm in, I reckon Alton or Loomies meet 0900ish and similar route to the one me and Spank did the other Sunday, Popham airfield for bacon butties and such?

Hows about this......

0900 Alton station
0930 chase Spank through the countryside to Popham then who knows where.

I'm happy with either.

I've got a route planned for popham that involves the road we did the other day and one me mark and fallout did but I want to wait till we're all together to run it.

It's also better as a loomies start so I say this time we do jobs run and start from Alton or northerly.

Ok, here's the deelio for me. The mrs is going out to Thorpe park like a dirty stop out, so one of two scenarios present themselves:

1. My parents can look after the dog for the day, in which case I'm game for anything.
2. My parents can't look after the dog for the day, in which case I need to stop at my place around lunchtime (1pm latest) to let the dog out for a **** and ****, feed it and then torment it by putting it back in it's cage for another 10 hours.

So if we can plan a route which allows for a swing by my place, that'd be awesome.

Looking at route ideas now which can include Popham cafe.

Here's a nice half hour jaunt from my place to Popham.

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=tadley&daddr=51.3427008,-1.2163317+to:51.319191,-1.251941+to:Popham+Airfield&hl=en&ll=51.26836,-1.148758&spn=0.23328,0.676346&sll=51.324739,-1.235104&sspn=0.014562,0.042272&geocode=FblxDwMdd7nu_ymlmQB4JBx0SDGElbSAVpzMaQ%3BF WxtDwMdtXDt_ylBDeAypqB2SDGNqp2NEi0k9A%3BFZcRDwMdm-Xs_ylvgzjmvx10SDE8nbBqyo9Vrw%3BFUwqDQMdcSPt_yF6_7H 2fmy8PCkdrzV4PRp0SDF6_7H2fmy8PA&oq=popham+a&mra=mrv&via=1,2&t=m&z=11

Really nice twisty lane from lane from my house, then all the way down the B3051 right down to the cafe. Looks like it should be a good road with lots of straights and wigglies alike. Takes approx 30 mins. So would be easy to stop at my place lunchtime for 5 mins then grab lunch at popham and watch some planes taking off and choppers and old boys.

Working on a route from Loomies to my place now ...

Edit: Maybe I can leave the dog at loomies!

From loomies I'd recommend south to the roundabout, turning right, the. Taking the right turn towards Winchester on that road I showed you and job the other day, bringing you out at the roundabouts on the end of the 272.

Then your choices are probably Alresford way or through Easton and accross the back of south wonton.

I'm just being helpful for any current or potential future rideouts.

Fallout
20-09-12, 08:22 PM
I'm game for anything. Here's a 1 1/2 or 2 hr route idea ...

1. Blat north out of loomies to winchester and those roundabouts.
2. Trundle through the town
3. Take the sweepy stockbridge road to ... stockbridge
4. Up the A3057
5. Hang a right onto the B3420 which looks properly twisty
6. Right onto the B3400 through Whitchurch and Overton all the way to BStoke
7. A turbo blatt up the A339 for some high speed sweepers
8. One more nadgery one to my house

Then see other route to popham for lunch. So if we met 9:30, 10:00, we'd be at my place for 12:00ish then at Popham for lunch between 12:30 and 1:00.

From there we can follow Ad on the death defying death twister of death, with that ridiculous hill and corner that literally makes you die as soon as you see it.

Bit of an accident with a heat gun at work today, typing with one hand sucks, if I can get my gloves on comfortably I'm still in, any chance of a clear concise post relating to both rides so I an chose which one, although going north for a change does appeal.:smt103

I know, change of scenery is what i was after and somewhere i ahdn't been for a while. Looks like a great turn out too!

And you've not managed to convince Bob to get out of bed earlier? We don't need fancy hair and lippy for a ride-out.

Bob wanted later still! She's a woman, it's the weekend, she wants a lie in. Still trying to convince her that being a biker means early mornings on days of good weather.

For those meeting at the Holiday Inn may I suggest we meet in the main carpark in the corner away from the reception. That way we don't upset all the residents who are having a lay-in.

Entrance of the A339 Alton road.

@Thunderace, let me know if you want to meet at the Oatsheaf 09:45

Bodmin was 3 times further and we rode that in 7 hours or less (disregarding lunch stop, clutch stops, traffic etc)

Just to set some expectations I may well make a u-turn around Oxford somewhere as I can't be out for the whole day especially if we're not starting until brunch time.

Ah but you see he's besotted. Unfortunately at Alton I got her long-term game-plan and I must say it's not looking good for his Jobbiness.

There is no long term plan. She's off travelling in 5 weeks! I have another rider for tomorrow, my Dad is coming along for the blast out, weather prevailing.

I had two stag dos in a row, but now they're done. All friends of value married (take note Ad). I will be free for the rest of time!!! Except the next two weekends probably. And Christmas.
