Bought a drz400 last Wednesday, still getting used to the knobblys. Just leaving a customers driveway do a right turn and give it a little throttle, bike went for a little slide and I hurt my knee :( I know I should be more careful since it has just been drizzly. Looks like a few scrapes and scratches.

It's a DRZ... that isn't a crash... Stop being a poof :-P
Stick some skate wheel style swingarm and fork sliders on it.

Yep, better get used to falling off if going to green lane on it, they are pretty robust in fairness, most things bend back into shape.

The DRZ will be fine. Almost flipped mine a few weeks back off roading. It landed very heavy taking the full weight of the bike on the bars. Was expecting bent forks, bars, snapped levers and dings when I picked it up. Only damage was the mirror came off and the hand guards had moved a bit. These bikes are ace. And yes, blue is the best colour ;)

if you saw my mates xt660 you would know these style bikes dont simple fall apart when you fall off.
The tiger hit a bus at 30mph and i walked away. what was you saying about your bruises :)

man up!
get some stickers, or a can of halfords appliance white. spray pannels, file groves in bolts on hand guards and go crash it again.
oh in the mean time 17" rims and a 300mm front disc then it will be a proper bike:cool:
as for the knee ill kiss it better if you let me loose on the bike with some tools for a day and open it up for you.

+1
If you're going to fly, wheelie ,stoppie, mud bog, hill climb or travel though the forest, you can expect a few scratches along the way.
A little Amorall (or equivalent) hides scratches fairly well.
The only plastic I've ever replaced on an off road bike was in bits. LOL
Reminds me of my first cross countrytrip on the SV.
Left home, first service done, with 600 miles on the clock.
Some 475 miles later when we arrived at the first nights stop I discovered the tailbag's straps had left some very small skuff marks on the paint.
Later that night we were outside and I commented again about the skuff marks maybe getting them fixed.
It was then one of the group asked me a question I'll always remember.
"So, Did you buy that to be a show bike?"

Instead if creating a new thread I'll ask here.
Is the drz fine to go through very deep puddles, a few feet deep? I went through one last night, awesome water went straight over my head for 20 meters, bike plodded straight through, didn't cut out and started fine all night
Thanks
Josh

Ooh err ;)
Ive had mine probably just up to top of front wheel in water, you need to keep moving though, my problem is i tend to go too fast through water and create a 15 feet bow wave lol
