Diarrhea and vomiting can strike at any time!;)
I know the route, as per usual  Got it in the sat nav and notes too.
No out riders needed, just keep the person behind in your mirrors and keep a count of everyone. Usual scenario of waiting at junctions/turnings.

Booooo!! :D My mirrors bend themselves in at 100!
well i doubt we'll all be doing 100 in a 9 man convoy. That would mean as a collective we'd be travelling at more than teh speed of sound!

This is true Job! Marking junctions could be fun though. That mixes up the order and avoids the slow plod scenario and allows lunatics like Nathan to have an excuse to stop, let people though, then cane to the front of the pack again (and me! .... and Spank) ... etc.
we'll see how the first leg goes and if we need to. we'll have 3 drop outs by Oxford ;)

Thanks to DaddyJob and Grandpajob for organising an excellent ride. Unfortunately Bob and I didn't go all the way but the new "Bendy Bob" is going to be a bit of a handful if her progress today is anything to go by.
Although we suspected the hundreds of folks in the field were BoardTea's mates looking for dropped change to pay for fuel it turns out it was in fact a national metal detecting rally (http://www.weekendwanderersdetecting.com/INTRODUCTION/RALLY_2012/rally_2012.html) certainly looked like a good way of rounding up a bunch of social outcasts in one place I can only assume the Napalm drop was scheduled for a bit later in the day.
I await the ROCA recommendations but need to start with -1 for Boardtea for riding through the middle of the glaringly obvious dog poo!

I'd like to propose the rideout be treated as two rideouts due to its length and to allow fair points allocation for both the riders of the full route and the halfway heroes (mark and bob).
I'd also like to call into question marks statement that him and bob "didn't go all the way"
After he was suspiciously able to make it after he heard bob was coming and then she was so keen to leave with him I'd like to suggest they may have indeed "gone all the way" and would ask for votes as to how many points this should garner him (and how many bribes we'd accept not to tell his wife).
Thanks guys for a really fantastic day out…..
oh those roads!!!!, what were they ?, private race track….lol… :smt043

Well here are my thoughts. Feel free to discuss and adopt as you see fit:
Daddyjob - +1 for organised great ride out, -1 for being the loser TEC, +1 for resisting the urge to ride home with bob.
GrandDaddyJob +2 for leading a good ride out. -1 for almost riding into the side of farm machinary after we left the first pub.
Bob +1 for attending and riding well, -1 for not wearing enough clothes. Not normal I say that about a woman. Maybe that's jobs fault for not inspecting her insulative layers correctly.
ThunderFace +1 for remaining calm throughout. No shananigans at all about from obligatory mini drag races.
Spank +1 for some good jokes and keeping it shiny side up.
BordTea +2 for a full long rideout attended. Definitely worthy of note. -1 for the tractor exhaust note.
Jammy +1 for eating his own lunch.
Tony +1 for getting his granny outfit on before we were all ready to leave!
Ok, dinner time. Will think of others later.

Fallout -1 for almost killing himself by bouncing off the bonnet of oncoming traffic and forcing a merc to brake rather hard ;)
Tonyk -1 for blasting past me and making me **** myself
Bloody good ride today actually, those roads were brilliant just a shame there wasnt less traffic on some parts!

I think bob should get a plus one for being tec, after all it's less fun and someone had to.
A bit selfishly I'd like to suggest I ought to get a plus 1 for actually spotting what the farm machinery was doing and keeping out of the way, it's not often I actually look and plan ahead.

TEC is an important job and means we don't lose anyone ;) god knows that most the people on the ride out today don't have a sense of direction!
GrandDaddyJob +2 for leading a good ride out. -1 for almost riding into the side of farm machinary after we left the first pub.
The tractor never indicated at all. Thankfully the tractor did eventually look in his mirror and see that he was about to be over taken. Overall feeling of that even from Dad was that 'The ABS works well and that instincts kickeed in, no panic, simply did what was good for the situation.
Bob +1 for attending and riding well, -1 for not wearing enough clothes. Not normal I say that about a woman. Maybe that's jobs fault for not inspecting her insulative layers correctly.
I met her at a petrol station, not really the palce to be inspecting clothes!

I believe it was Daddyjob doing an excellent TEC role.
May I remind it's 3 for leading, 2 for good attendance and others for entertaining or notable actions during the ride-out.
I'd also like to allocate Bob +1 (note not "give" to save the sniggering) for being a very absorbent student.

Ta muchly Mr Job and Job senior, excellent route fun day all round and good attendance.
ROCA
Fallout (+1) -1 for not noticing my shenanigans. +1 for accidental wheelie! +1 for Jammy's kill switch.
Bordtea (-1) for riding too close behind a transit van and subsequently missing a couple of overtaking opportunities.
Thunderace (+2) +1 for 3 traffic islands being dealt with "properly" & +1 for attempting to set off four speed cameras and getting flashed by one of them!
Bob (+1) for not hanging about and using maximum beans where possible.
tonyk (+2) for highest speed of the day.
Mark_h (+1) for helping Bob to feel the force.
Daddyjob (+2) for being the back marker all day and generally having to bimble behind Jammy.
Grandaddyjob (+2) +1 for leading a fantastic ride +1 for some very artful p*ss taking at the airfield and at the traffic lights with the guy with one pannier.
Spank86 (+1) for doing his best not to shoot of round the twisties and actually stay with the pack.
Jammy (+1) for at times pinning his throttle and keeping it there to keep up.

I remember that Merc, you were overtaking ahead of us, me and bordtea overtook the car behind the one you were passing and he left me nowhere to go, it did look like it was you that made the merc anchor up but I think is was the Ace heading for his bonnet that made him brake!:smt115

Thanks for owning up, Road Banshee. If a Merc did indeed lock up, it must've been when it was along side me, or past me, cos I didn't see it, and I like to look my chicken competitors in the eye!
You should have been at the back watching Jammy and Bordtea then. Most over takes involved more than 50% luck/hope (blind crests/solid whites/ no visibility/lack of speed/lack of gap)

+1 to Bordtea, not only did he turn up, he had petrol, did the entire ride and despite his reputation for lapping roundabouts trying to get his knee down with the fuel light on, he can actually ride, fast corners and big handfulls of acceleration, if he practices those corners and learns to overtake we will have a fourth lunatic in the GM!
EDIT: is say 4th but more like 6th as some how Daddyjob and Tomor both ride like their hairs on fire but no-one seems to notice!

Those bikesafe bods are gonna have a field day with them tomo!;)
yeah, i'm unsure who will be 'limping' the most afterwards! I have no doubt they'll benefit from it, if they take on board what is said and put it into practice.

I beg to differ. Some of the overtakes i saw you lot doing were scarily close!
(but i will admit to Lack of gap/solid whites :smt019)

We have more power and ability though.
I only ever clipped solid lines, never really went over them.
Not sure if its how you read it or because of a spelling mistake but i meant I admit to running white lines and having no gap! hahaha
But yes i will admit i have alot to learn. There's a reason i have the largest number of PLEB posts in the pleb corner bar
But yes i will admit i have alot to learn. There's a reason i have the largest number of PLEB posts in the pleb corner bar
To learn you need to practice. To practice you need to stay alive. To stay alive you need to back it off a bit.
As I have often said don't worry about going quick. Practice being smooth and quick will just happen. Speed is the unfortunate byproduct of planned, smooth riding.
Here endeth the sermon.
Biksafe tommorow looks like a washout from 9am onwards (when the day starts) Atleast the rozzas wont get to see me open it up.

They don't want to see you open it up, bikesafe is all about road position, appropriate speed and good observation.
