View Full Version : Is that the end of 2k12 rideouts?
Just wondering if its general practise to continue arranging rideouts when the weathers as pants as it is.
Who plans to ride through the winter months?
'Cold weather discussion thread' if you will.

Manz on a uni hype ting init
Bordtea refuses to ride in - Blizzards, storms, darkness, fog, light rain, drizzle. When the sun disappears, he hides away in bed
dont mind the cold, would prefer not to ride in the wet. If it is my only means of transport to work then so be it, but if i can use the cage i will

I'll be layering up and riding.
Probably not so much if its wet and not at all if the fritters are about but a bit of cold is fine.
I really hope we've not had the last ride out of the year, but possibly we've had the longest.

Rain is no fun. More to worry about when taking corners. Also as discussed on sat, I won't be riding if the roads have been gritted. Too much hassle with cleaning the bike every time you come home to avoid caliper corrosion etc. Otherwise, don't care how cold it is. I have loads of insulation layers, riding balaclavas, winter gloves with inners and bowls of porridge ready for consumption!
So basically, game for rides in the dry no matter how cold, on grid free roads.

Regardless of weather, I'm a biker and would crawl through broken glass to get to a bike meet!;)

If its all the same with you we'll try not to schedule bike meets on the other side of patches of broken glass, it plays he'll with the tyres.

All the same, I have no problem with smashing some beer bottles on the ground around your bike and breaking your legs before the next ride meet. It would be good to test your mettle!

They collect the glass next Friday here but I could save some for you if it would help?

Depends how big we want the perimeter to be.
Sorry for intruding. NW Guildford is mostly wet all year round so we ride whatever the weather. Having said this, we do rideouts on sunny winter days over the Brecon Mountains all the time. I think it has been suggested that a Wales trip is due at some point.
Also I've started a thread to see if anyone is interested in doing EuroTour2013 (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=2776717#post2776717)
All the best,

Also why are there two Mr Lazy's? I'm confused. What's the rules on duplication of Mr Men characters?
Not at all, they just have to be even better planned with the light and weather in mind. And to be at destinations long enough to dry off if need be ;)
On the homeward stretch i don't care about the weather. Only on the ride out/around i mind a bit about the weather.

I'll ride in Winter as long as its dry, and not for too long, and I want a cup of tea every hour or so. No motorways. Other than that I'm up for it.

That'll be those leathers TIB, making your balls cold. Textiles would see you right!
