What a breed you are. This place seems to be the place to come for advice.

So Worcester 28cdi.

When I turn on the central heating, it dribbles water out of the overflow and next time I go to turn it on, the is zero pressure showing and I have to top it up. I am currently running the heating in manual mode as only needed whilst aged mother was visiting and felt chilly.

doesn't seem to loose water/pressure on hot water only.

I have a call in with my maintenance contract provider, but they haven't given me a date/time yet.

Is it ok to continue use, just keeping an eye on the pressure and to top up. Obviously I wouldn't put it on auto as I wouldn't want it to kick in with zero pressure.

I have a British Gas 532i, which I have been informed is a Worcester just badged as BG, I had a similar problem it turned out to be the fill valve in the bottom letting the water back out (assuming yours has the key type built in fill loop)

Sounds like a sticky prv, I've had a similar problem on my own boiler and I've seen it on others too.
Basically it's not fully shut so is allowing a dribble out constantly.

I would guess its furry in there and it's not sitting properly.

Or the diverter not closing properly.

If it's leaking out of the prv tim (the copper pipe to outside) then if you remove the outer cover and trace that pipe back it will go to the Valve with a red screw top on it, turn the valve 1 full turn and hopefully it will make a seal and not leak any more, you then re pressurize and turn on the heating and see if any more water comes out, you can try this a few times but if it continues to let water by, then a new valve is required. Also does the water pressure on the gauge go up to any where near 3bar when the heating is on, if so then you have an expansion vessel problem, either not enough air pressure in it, or the diaphragm is knackered and a new vessle is req hth. Ps, it's fine to use as long as the pressure is kept up.
