Good, shame we haven't a backbone anymore and didn't just shoot him years ago.
Corrected for you :-)
The bit that pees me off is that it's the human rights lot that have helped keep him in the UK for so long. If his mad lot had their way - we would be back to a religious autocracy and wouldn't have any human rights!

Agreed mate.
Did/do they give any consideration of their victims of bombings etc?
In my eyes, you lose any human rights privileges if you commit crimes of this nature, especially when your victims human rights and well being were the last thing on your mind when committing such offences.
The world would be a safer and better place without this lot that's for sure.

Well yet again we have the great minds of Europe to thank.
If we had a decent government with a back bone these *****s wouldn't even be alive. They live and have lived all their lives in such a money sheltered land they are blinded from what real life is. Too scared to upset some fat cat in Belgium whilst handing them all our money and too busy having play ground arguments in "house of ****s". I think we should send Cameron and all his group over with hookhand, after all they've nurtured these known scumbags and allowed them to breed hatred.

THIS
If you can't do the time don't do the crime. Make them sit in bare empty cells with the bare minimim of activities, make them work hard eight hours a day to keep those activities, don't give them games consoles, don't give them any luxuries, don't give them any breaks.

Now if he'd hacked a computer we'd pack him off to the US without too much delay. Clicky. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8177561.stm)
Or if maybe he'd run a business and there had been some questions asked about Iran, we'd get him on a plane pronto. Clicky. (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/9102858/Retired-British-businessman-Christopher-Tappin-to-be-extradited-to-Armerica-by-US-marshals.html)
But if there's fairly solid evidence you've been involved in multiple murders, and you squeal about religion and rights, we get all protective and you get to stay.
I'm thinking this is not right.

I'm going to play devils advocate here.
3 of these men definately deserve to be extradited, but I'm not so sure about two others. These 2 are British citizens who have run a UK based website, never been to the US and, I think, the accusations against them are somewhat less serious.
I'm not saying they shouldn't be tried - they should, but in British courts. We should not erode our own rights because we are blinded by a buzz word - terrorist. It is a dangerous precident and I'm worried about what it could lead to.
An extreme / silly concept but effectively you or I could be extradited to, say Pakistan, for posting something against any future regime imposing shariah law - I don't want that.
As an aside it's not politicos preventing extradition, it's the judiciary which is largely separate.
Edit: crossed with Sids post. What I'm saying is that I disagree with what happened in the two cases Sid has highlighted, and two of the five in question here have similar principles, so by the same logic I question those two. The other three, including Abu Hamsa (sic), I have no issue with.

Sensible stuff.
I agree in principle, we should have a robust method of arbitrating between the rights of suspects and the desires of foreign powers to extradite. I was merely pointing out the seeming disparity between the difficulty of packing Hamza and his buddies off to the US, (where I believe all five do have a case to answer), and the apparent ease with which the two cases I mentioned were dealt with to the satisfaction of the US authorities.

Hamza and hit two cronies definately have a case to answer in the US (due to links with attacks on US Embassies) - although it's also convenient to send them there because much of the evidence is transcripts of intercepted calls which in not admissible in the UK, so they can also answer for other things while they are there.
The only link I know of for the 'other' two is that while it was a UK based and run website - the server it was stored on was in the US. No doubting that it was Jihady website - but to me this throws it into the same category as the businessman and the hacker. In fact I think that if it hadn't been for them being able to piggy back on the Hamza appeals, and if it hadn't been terror related, we'd have just shipped them off with no quarms.
But wasn't this a sort of a backup plan to get rid of them after a failed attempt to deportment them back to terror'stan?
There was definately an attempt to deport Hamza to Jordan, but he would have faced the death penalty which is against our extradition rules.

what makes me annoyed with this particular case is the amount of money paid to his lawyers to me smart (not honest) and use every trick to keep him out of the US on techinicalities. And we get to pay their every expense! Can't we ship out his legal team as well (I hope one of them is Cherie Blair!)
