Off on a stag do in newcastle this weekend and Saturday was supposed to be spent getting drunk watching horse racing at ripon.

Unfortunately the bloody place seems to be flooded somehow and so despite your reputation as hardy northerners it's been cancelled. I guess you must import your horses or jockeys from us down south.

If anyone's got any suggestions for something that might fill its place, preferably to accompany all day drinking it would be appreciated. We've got transport booked from where were staying in Newcastle to ripon and back but I'm sure it could Be diverted to a similar sort of place.

Go to a swimming pool instead, all day drinking guaranteed ;)

You do realise rather a lot of well known stables are from the area? The horses down south are too poofy to step out of the stable door, hence cancellations.

I can see our stubborn hardy horses galloping round the gallops of middleham laughing their necks off!

I went to the Dog track in Newcastle for a stag do, it's not all day but it was a good laugh. We went karting beforehand, really good track as well.

We're staying in Newcastle so we'll be doing the night out there and karting on the friday afternoon. just need some suggestions for Saturday daytime preferably somewhere between ripon and Newcastle. Also preferably not too expensive, can't afford to throw another hundred per person on top at this stage.

It doesn't have to involve horses or any livestock it would be preferably if we could drink at the same time but not essential.

.

No livestock now this is going to be difficult...

Was going to say quadbiking but with karting the day before suppose you won't want to do that. What about paint balling? Target shooting? Pigeon clay shooting. Comedy club (not sure if it's during the day)

During the day.

Livestock is permissible but not essential.

I think it's been decided on dog racing but its still up for debate since the dogs are free entry. cheers for the suggestions so far.

Bit surprised at you dave, I was expecting to read that we should stop being such fairies and simply power drink all day.

That does sound like a good option now you put it like that.

I might have to suggest it as an alternative/after dog track event.
