Ok guys,

Basically I'm on the rob for a deep fat fryer for the workshop because it's getting cold now and I want to be able to do some hot food up there for the long days!

Does anybody have an old fryer they don't use that they want to get rid of?

I will pay for postage and a beer :)

Does it have to be a fryer or are you open to other appliances? E.g. Sandwich toaster, George foreman grill etc.

What about a tesco el cheapo microwave? Possibly cheaper than delivery for a fryer.

Ive got a microwave and a george foreman grill down there but I sometimes stay down there the night so things like chips etc would be awesome, hence wanting a fryer.

other appliances would be good but depends whats going begging really

We've got a table top halogen oven. Cook all sorts including oven chips, pizza, jacket potatoes, chicken.
Ours is quite big but my brother had a small one from Makro in his flat.

you can get a new one from Tescos for under £15.

We can't even get a microwave in the office due to insurance restrictions let alone a fryer!!

this one (http://direct.asda.com/ASDA-Stainless-Steel-Fryer/001557085,default,pd.html) great bit of kit it uses 3ltr which is convenient as thats what most cooking oil comes in. i use mine at between 150-170 on the dial it also has the added benefit if you forget bout it it turns off after the allocated time so doesn't burst into flames.

best frozen chips i have found to date are mccain home chips. if your going to make fresh chips from tatties then.

cut chips from marris piper or rooster (the best).
put chips in container of boiled water and let stand for 10-15 mins
put fryer on, drain chips then fry at 130 till ready.
enjoy perfect chips :-)
