I'd appreciate your guys help to make my mind up ...

I commute to work each day .... Across the outskirts of London - a mix of heavy urban threading through traffic, down the A3, and then general A road filtering ... Basically for those that might know it ... Sutton (Surrey) .. Tolworth .. Hampton Court ... Teddington ...

Did it for a while on an SV650S (hence on here) but the riding position was far from ideal ... Done it on an ER6F for the last 2 years (day in-day out) ..

Anyway - been offered a good 2005 Honda CBF600SA !!!

Really tempted to move on from the vibey ER Twin .... But not sure if the CBF600 is going to be that little bit bigger (and slower) to thread through the traffic ...

Do I switch ??

TIA ....

the ER6F is a lovely relaxed riding position and I'd have to say far less "vibey" than a lot of other twins, the CBF is pure functionality the engine is both smooth and refined, but it has no character at all, as a functional form of transport it's going to start and work as it should, day in ,day out, you're right it's heavier and has a greater turning circle but not to bad, if you can live with "bland" then it fits the bill and is better screwed together than the Kwak.

So to simplify, purely as a transport tool, I'd say yes it's a good move.

but I'd never own one, I enjoy my riding far to much.

I had a CBF for a while earlier this year and found it exactly as above, functional, easy to use, but utterly uninspiring. I described it in my blog as the motorcycling equivalent of knitting.

It carried pillions OK, although comments came back that it was not as comfortable as the rear pad on my SV, the engine pulled and it rode fine, but for the whole time I had it, I missed my vibey, exciting little twin. I was so glad to get my SV back.

If you can, take the CBF for a test ride and make up your own mind. After all, only you can know how you feel about it.
