Hi Fibre race bodywork exhaust melting

I have bought a hi fibre front fairing for my K5 sv650, looking at the bellypan it is very close to the exhaust manifold so I heat wrapped the manifold but it is still burning/melting the fibre glass...

Wondering what anyone else has done?

You can buy the heatproof matting that sticks to the inside of the fairing not sure of its exact name though sorry

Have you told the manufacturer? It's obviously not right that it should melt if everything is standard in the way of fitting etc.
