Hi,

I work shifts and get on with my neighbours, so i dont want anything that much louder than stock, but i'd like something visually shorter, and more throaty. I have been looking at a tri-oval delkavic and also the carbon fuel pipe.

anyone have any advice for me?

I had a Leo Vince carbon can, beautifully made and a little different. But would I recommend it? No the SV blew the carbon sleave to bits. I'd maybe think about stainless or titanium though.

Not cheap either to b honest!

I've got a Simmi performance stainless, its not offensively loud. Gets rid of some mass

Avoid carbon at all cost! Have seen a SV eat a Arka carbon in 3 race meetings

i have an ART can which gives it a nice throaty growl.

some people say my can sounds great but as i am normally sat on the bike i dont hear just how good it sounds from a distance.

would i recommend it?

Oh yes indeed.

Hey mate, I would defo go for a scorpion can, they sound great, nice growl from them and not too loud until you get the revs up and you get a removable baffle.
Not too expensive and look great. Try ebay, amazon or ghostbikes for them

Mivv carbon on my current SV - it's loud. Really, really loud (SIII's quote after following me on the GMV was "that is the noisiest, stinkiest SV I've ever heard").

My old curvy had a Remus can on it, which was a really nice compromise between volume and growl.

Oh - and 'er indoor's SV has a Fuel can, which too sounds really nice and throaty.

Tbh - SV's sound ace with pretty much ANY aftermarket exhaust - just pick the one you like the look of best.

Scorpion Street Extreme.

+1 on the Scorpion Street Extreme. It is stubby so it will tick your 'visually shorter' box, albeit failing miserably to tick the 'not much louder' box - although as Apollo says, when you are the one on the bike it is hard to know exactly how it sounds.

Actually, with the baffle in I don't think it was too wild until the revs get up. With baffle out it leans toward the, er, fruity end of the spectrum but I've never heard my neighbours complain yet.

...actually, come to think of it, that may be because I can't hear feck all except the exhaust!

Scorpian! Always getting told it sounds nice. And yes Jamesmio's can is offensive!!! And smelly - but thats not the can's fault.

Got am email back from Delkavic , they say they can make the exhaust i want in 420mm or something a bit shorter 360mm or something. ITs far too wet and i'm far too tired (night duty) to measure the standard can myself. Anyone know how these sizes compare to standard?

yes i have googled it.

Apparently the v twin can shatter carbon eventually. I had a matt black Beowulf, great deep proper v twin sound but not too noisy. And so well made and reasonably priced.

The joy though when I got my twin arrows for the street triple r, and realised all the neighbours hated us anyway, it was rude to leave the baffles in. Now that's just rude! But bloody good fun! Especially at 7am god it's been too long, can't wait to get back on it.

Usually get instructions with the can, but I cut 50mm up from the weld, if you have a metal cutter the job is much easier, I went through 4 blades when doing it by hand! Not fun!

Also, if you are not removing the whole exhaust to cut make sure you put a couple layers of cardboard behind the exhaust where you are cutting to protect the fairing and any other parts that can be accidentally scratched. There are a load of guys who have done it before on here so run a search on the forum and you can get plenty tips ;)

hmm. its hack saw or dremel for me. dont know which would be faster to be honest. i used all my good 'ebay faker' dremel blades up and i only have the 'official' dremel ones that are wafer thin.

i per-empt that more folk would be wanting them after the group buy was done and thought with such a good response on here i would shift the rest in svrider no problem... ermm how wrong was i  but heyho that's how the cookie crumbles and i will no doubt shift them slowly which is quite good as it gives me cash for my sunday runs :-)

i have a few pairs left so just gives a PM.

My new can , volume wise, is the same at idle sounding much more throaty and less 'fruity' .
As soon as you open it up, the sound is amazing, and loud enough; you can still hear traffic etc, but the sound is great and gives me noticeably more presence on the road. Defiantly feels safer, which is what i wanted. and it looks $1000000. the whole kit is really high quality, right down to the clamps. highly recommended.

haven't taken out the baffle, probably wont, but that could change :)
