Can You Identify This?

Im asking on behalf of a friend who is doing a project with a mate of his. They are building some replica thing and need the part that is in this picture. We are all fairly certain its some sort of heat shield from a bike, but we have no idea which. Granted, we could be barking up the wrong tree, but I thought I would ask a wider audience for help. Any ideas people?

Looks more like a Barrel Jacket from an LMG to me , I`m pretty sure it was the Russians that used slotted Barrel Jackets like that

Looks like the barrel from a tactical shotgun to me, similar to what xXBadgerXx says.
