The video on here is mesmeric and quite fascinating (I must get out more). If you're feeling brave you could read the geeky comments underneath about the physics of it all, but personally I keep looking for the bully metronome that must be wielding some mystic power (or something) that forces the rest of them into step.

Very interesting indeed. And the Fascist analogy is quite funny as it ironically perpetuates our human tendency to coneptualise things, to find meaning in the things we observe and experience. I can only imagine the possibilities of the usefulness of this knowledge, but sure far more intelligent people than I have come up with good uses.

this kind of experiment can be used to help understand engineering and building issues and designs on known earth quake hotspots and floating structures

but thats just obvious thus proving everyone else is far more intelligent than you :)
