A 1978 Honda CBX. Inline 6. The thing is so wide it's unbelievable! Awesome and interesting and certainly not what I was expecting to see when I went to go see it.

I remember when it came out (I was young then....not riding...no honestly) and it was jaw droppingly fantastic looking. That and the Kwak Z1300 were real stunners. Don't see too may of either around now. Envy, envy...

I was riding then!
We used to meet up at a bike park near our bus station, where one bloke turned up on a brand new one, which his Daddy had bought for him, nobody liked this guy, as Daddy regularly bought him new bikes.
Twas a nice bike though

you see more cbx's around now then you did when they sold them new,but you dont see many unrestored dirty/rusty ones about like the one pictured, every one i see looks factory fresh having either hardly used from new and imported from the states,or having had at least 10k spent on them to restore it,as the spares are very hard to come by and very expensive

I had a silver T reg one in the mid eighties. It had a Marshall 6 into 1 exhaust which sounded unbelievable. Unfortunately for me it also played its part in the biggest mistake I have ever made in my biking life. I had got it into my mind I wanted something a bit sportier, and sold it for a Dream Machine painted Rothmans HRC VF500(yes I know, and actually knew immediately). This act of madness still rankles with me 25 years later, although I am gradually coming to terms with it, what a muppet I was!

Way back when (About 82). I had a Moto Martin CBX for a few weeks. The sort of bike Honda should have made. Putting that engine into a decent frame was all you needed of a bike back then.

I remember when they were new! About '87-'88 I rode one that came in as a part-ex.
Fantastic engine, everything else not great.
