he went faster, broke the sound barrier so he wouldn't freefall for longer

His landing was ultra cool, just like in the cartoons, just stepped off all cool :)
Just found this lot on twitter - I don't care whether it's official or fake, but I'm laughing my ass off at https://twitter.com/FeIixBaumgartnr
Edit: Just noticed the I instead of L in felix, so it's almost certainly fake...

Overcame a misted visor and a near fatal spin on the way down - no wonder he was cautious and opened a bit early. Fantastic achievement and a good load of science data on what speed and altitude do to the body.
I must admit to thinking he was toast when he went into the spin!
I couldn't help wondering if he stopped the freefall early to leavie Kittinger with at least one record :)

He's still alive, nothing stopping him going up and doing it again. Other than excuses!

It was fantastic watching it, defo need to be wired up differently to do that! I was a bit puzzled about not breaking the freefall record but I heard earlier that when Kissinger jumped he had some kind of small chute attached from jumping so his speed was always alot lower than on this jump.
*Edit - Just looked it up he used a drogue chute for stability and therefore a slower descent speed.
