I have one

:p

And even better, GruntyGiggles has let me put it in the living room.

I made this weekend from a set of leather Land Rover Discovery seats, when I get the rust sorted in the car the seats are going in the Disco and I'll swap these for a nice cream set of Range Rover seats, and do something with front seats too as arm chairs.

A picture as they stand

Get them mucky boots off the sofa!

All you need now is a V8 coffee table!

Although this looks like it may be the best idea anyone has ever had.

Surely Squirrel Hunter has enough SV engine spares to give to you to make a V4 coffee table

I'd love an old V8 or V12 block to do that with, I've seen one where the maker used four pistons as the the table top support and the other four as the legs for the table which I thought was quite good too.

Started well for me with a Dell box visible in pic one but went instantly downhill with a Fujitsu logo in pic two...

Clever stuff Stretchmeister.

Cheers Trev, If it helps, I'm sure it won't, the Fujitsu is for Fujitsu services not computers, I got that and several other t-shirts in 2006 at a systems go live.

I though "They'll be good for wearing in the garage and rescued about eight of them I think", although I worked for them, we were never made to sing the Fujitsu song, and yes, there IS a Fujitsu company song

Hmmm... I used to work for EDS. We'll have to swap stories about the Atlas project one of these days and compare what each company thought about the other.

I was not part of that I'm afraid, I was on the NHS Millennium project full time, but I'm sure I can guess what the banter was like :)

This has been discussed. Can't remember what he wants to make with the TL1000 lump we have sitting around, might have been a cake mixer for Grunty...

It was a lawn mower I wanted to do, as a 'simple' test we can just try to swap the 135cc motor currently on the mower for the TL1000S engine doing nowt, I'll knock up some framework for it
:D

Uh...that lawn mower cost a bleedin' whack, so as much as I will happily have and LOVE the top gear sofa and think it looks fab in the living room...I draw the line at messing with my lawnmower.

I will have a coffee table made out of an engine, a lamp made out of a shock...I welcome all of that, but don't mess with an expensive bit of kit that is in perfect working order!!!!!!!!!

Anyway....it's a wicked sofa my dear and I am very proud of you, not only for doing it...but for doing it in less than 2 days :-)

Now that last post shows true love... Or someone breaking into their other halfs account.

Hopefully the former.

Nope, it is steel box section. Dan was thinking about painting it, but to be honest, I really like the industrial, unfettered look of it as it is.

Considering he only did a basic welding course this year, I am really impressed with it.

Actually, I am here sat on the top gear sofa, Dan is on the normal sofa. :-)

That looks great.

I got inspired by the table at Girth's work made using Daytona frames...(need to get him to post a photo) I'm deffinately doing something like this when Iget the cellar done.
