Good afternoon,

I've been lurking for a while now browsing the For Sale section and the progress threads. My names Pete, im currently living in and around the Midlands areas (Birmingham / Leicester).

Only recently passed my Direct Access (June 2012) not yet had the chance to buy a bike but hoping this winter will be an ideal time ready for next summer. This will be my first real bike. I've ridden a moped briefly in the past but never really owned one. So other than my lessons and my test im a complete n00b.

I only work about 6miles from my house so no car in the winter isn't a major problem, plus I can get the mrs to drop me if its really cold.

I just thought i'd take the time out to finally check out the forum and other members.

So...... Hi

Hi pete, a fellow brummie?

Say hello in the madlanders section as there are a few based around those areas.

Good luck on finding the right bike.

Welcome to the Org Pea Juice.

:riding: I love my Gladius but would have been as happy with an SV as my 1st 'proper' bike. Easy to ride and not so powerful that it will tear your arms off.

Good luck finding a stead.

Due to insurance purposes and the fact I dont want to be 'just another statistic' straight away, I think ill opt out of getting a Gixxer ;)

Common myth that 600 supersports are crazy death machines.

Better brakes, better handling and smoother power delivery than the SV. The throttle also goes both ways.

The insurance is more though so the SV is probably the way to go for a couple of years.
