So is Guildford ahead in time zone:smt102 as Selkent end of season (whatever that is) is Sunday and yours is the day before, the only way I can figure it is a timezone change somewhere between the two ?...... ;)

Cheers Mark

We have to end the season earlier because we start the new one at midnight on the same day.

Plus the guys need the days recovery time after drinking.

Hmmmmm....Not really got this "end" thing, or is it like tyres; come to end of life and you get a new set :smt102 , I started first of march 75, haven't found a reason to stop yet

That was kinda my point, although I think we've all stated that we stay home when the gritters roam.

it's not 'end of season', merely end of season excuse for a drinking session. We'll still ride

Yup, as above! I'm scared of ice and the metal on my bike is scared of the sorry excuse for grit we use in this country, but the cold can suck my plums! The season never ends!

whilst no fan of the cold (too many broken bits and being diabetic can make it very painful), I merely dress accordingly; and actually enjoy the trial of ice and snow riding and keeping my skills well practised, a decent layer of ACF50 keeps the salt at bay nicely.

Cheers Mark.

ACF50 is my friend. I have always ridden in winter when I'm not on cv
crutches/in plaster and just liberally apply the ACF50 to the bike, sheep placenta cream to my face and put a thermal thong and heated grips on.

It's end of BBQ season, not end of riding season. - Keep UP!

Ok fine, apart from Nathan who shows compete disregard for the condition of his bike at all times.

So's mine to be honest, I was wiped out when I got home Sunday.

Got its MOT tomorrow, I'll have to wash it after that.

I assume not having a working temp guage won't cause a problem there?

Nope. It's not a risk to safety, so isn't on the test. Same with oil leaks. You will want to wash the dirt off your lights and numberplate though, because that may be a failure!

Yeah, was going to break out the Jeyes cloth beforehand.

If it's not running gear or lights, the only other thing to fail on is emissions or exhaust noise.

horn
sharp/pointy bits
leaking fluids
controls

horn - it works
sharp/pointy bits - none of those
leaking fluids - not a failure
controls - running gear

Two advisories, my chain is a bit slack (as ever) and the rear has had a plug in the tyre to repair a puncture.

I pity your neighbours, unless they're all invited!

This thread has reminded me to tell my gardener to clean the BBQ and tuck it away in the shed this weekend for winter.

It may be end of BBQ season, but it is start of Bonfire season. Always a reason to burn stuff.
