Nintendo DS Lite

Just bought one of these for my daughter's Christmas.

Will all DS games work with it, or are the games DS model specific?

A lot of the modern games are 3DS only - at least a few of the Mario ones (going by what my sister has tolf me, her kids have DS Lites (one was my old one) AND 3DS's because of this - they are HUGE Mario fans.

All DS games will work on a DS Lite. 3DS games will NOT.

Unlike most portable systems, the 3DS is also region locked, so games from outside that region (North America, Europe, Japan) won't work either.
