I love a bit of classical music. Was listening to some Pachelbel this morning on the ol' tube and then saw a link to "Canon Rock", a rock version of Pachelbel's classic. Then wasted another 20 minutes listening to various versions until I found this one. EPIC!! Had to share. :smt041

Just to clarify, the Pachelbel original is the best...

Yeah the little Chinese kid is better, that guy seems to copy what everyone else puts on YouTube but adds a twist to it.

He's still good tho

Totally agree. Always impressed by kids with this skill though. Can't imagine how many hours they spend practising.

Yeah, when I first saw this probably just over a year ago now was pretty impressive. If you want something slightly different, but imo more impressive - check out Joh Gomm Passionflower and Andy Mckee Drifting.

I've seen the Andy McKee one before - this style of playing is just remarkable. Jon Gomm takes up another notch as well...

And I will never think of Canon the same way. My wife walked down the isle to the organist playing the original version and I confidently predict it wold take me decades to get anywhere close to the skill that kid has!

That Jon Gomm track could be one of the most awesome performances I've seen. I say SEEN, because if I just heard it, I would've assumed there were several people involved and not thought it was so mega. Great link! :)

I once saw a guy in a pub doing this sort of thing but he also had a keyboard sequencer running a backing track too and did a few twiddly solo bits on that while he was going. Looked and sounded amazing. Then at one point he cocked up the keyboard and said .......

"Sorry about that folks, I hit the wrong button but as I'm blind I guess I have an excuse"

I just want to now how do you play a guitar like that without slicing off the ends of your fingers.

You don't. Once you've sliced off the ends of your fingers enough, they're 100% calous.

Ah Lance ya loon! :)

I hear Pachelbel's Canon and always think of Ladies and Gentlemen we are floating in space by Spiritualized, I love the sentiment in it, so true if you ask me... Not sure about the spotless mind video with it.

The full album is just amazing (poor Jason lost his woman to another junky and wrote one of the best melancholic albums ever)

Get back in your box Bib, and stop hunting for Britian Thinks It Has Talent wannabe videos. That one is now haunting me...

At last one I think I could manage... Put me down for doing the E-string bass role if ever anyone is good enough to do the other bit.

We could have had Jon gomm play at last year's AR, courtesy of Smudge, for the cost of a hat passed around.

Nobody wanted him!

He's frickin awesome as a bloke and an artist.

Well...no doubt it's technically brilliant...bit soulless and emotionless. Not exactly Wild Stallions, more a Donkey ride across Blackpool beach.
