Yeah that's right, I was involved in a hit and run of sorts the other night and now have scuffed and cracked fairings.

Black car pulled out from a line of parked cars in the dark without their lights on. I literally didn't see them til the last second and in missing them dropped the bike, they drove off either having never seen me or deciding it best they get out of there smartish!

So yeah, options are to buy a aftermarket to fairing part and get it professionally painted or maybe even get the fairing repaired if possible. If anyone knows of places that do this stuff in the Glasgow area let me know please :)

On the bright side I am fine except I need to go for an MRI scan to make sure my Scaphoid isn't broken in my wrist, and apart from the fairings (cosmetic) I only need a new right front indicator and the bike is good to go again...

Cheers dude though probably only require the top fairing part at first. Actually may be repairable, will post some pics tomorrow for opinions.

Okay phtoto...

http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u472/fac83ajc/CBRdamage.jpg

The side fairing is scuffed at the bottom and at the top left there is a small hole where the clip/lug into the frame has been pulled. The top fairing the only damage is the broke off/cracked part to the left of the 'CBR' sticker.

Annoyingly its the crash bung (just out of shot bottom left) that has been pulled back, which has then pulled the side fairing back causing the crack to the top fairing. But there again without the bung i would probably be whinging about my expensive exhaust being knackered and a lot more damage to side fairing/pegs/brake lever etc etc...

Anyone reckon the cracked top fairing is repairable as the rest of it is untouched? Already bought a new indicator and the side fairing isn't too bad and I will pick up another one at some point.

that should weld up no problem.

if it were me i would.. remove decals (or just go over the top of them), fill scratches/rash with filler then put new decals on once the filler has been flattened. for the part where its broken i would see if i could get someone to copy the CBR decal but extend it a bit to hide the crack or just live with the crack..

Okay mate, will try a few places and if not I'll give it a go myself. I have a spare bike to use for the winter now, so mines is off to my mums for the time being til i get round to fixing her up for summer again :)

Will fit a new crash bung and indicator for the Ice Cream Run (providing I can make it) or maybe just use the hack heh...
