Got on my bike after visiting a rifle club this evening to find that my bike had no electrical power (no lights at all). I knew I couldn't fix the issue as I did not have my multimeter with me. Fortunately, one of he fellow club member was a biker and an electrician and he came and had a look. He pointed to some cut wires which were connected to the ignition barrel. Someone tried to hotwire my bike but had blown the 30A fuse and decided to leave it after half-breaking the steering lock. They managed to somehow cut the wires in such a way that you can't reconnect the wires back together.
I ended up having to calling the recovery company.

I want to reconnect the wires back together as they were. There are 2 red wire, one large orange wire, one thin orange wire and one brown one. My issue is I don't know which red wire connects to which and was wondering whether there was a way to find out.

I only have one 30A fuse available so I have a 50:50 chance of getting it right by luck. The bike is my only form of transport and I really want to avoid to have to get the bike "towed" to a garage to get it fixed.

Please help,
Johnny

TL:DR. Some tried to steal my bike, attempted to hot wire, failed. Now want to reconnect the wiring as were but unsure which red wire to which.

With only 5 wires i presume it's a pointy you've got (normally 4) with an extra Red feed for some other bit of electrical addon kit?

It is a pointy. Found the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual and the red wires are interconnected. Bike is now operating as normal.

Is there any immediate danger of riding the sv with a cracked top yoke? Will upload pics later to show the damage.

Crack in the yoke?
Get home and leave locked up until you get a new one!
