Folks, i know virtually nothing about photoshop, i have it but cant dedicate enough time to learn to use it effectively.
Anyway, wife wants to give this pic on canvas to my sis but when its wrapped it cuts off the roof a tad so i have an idea...

What i thought was i could photoshop this onto a bigger better blue sky background which would allow more of the pic to be wrapped and not lose some of the roof.

Any step by step help would be muchly appreciated.

Simpler idea - just put a white border all the way round it, then wrap the border round the sides...

If it wasnt for the tree in the top right you could just stretch the sky out and be done that way.

Assuming the canvas mount is an inch thick, just add a 3/4" white border, that will preserve the picture as it, and then be hidden by the frame.

Photobox who are doing the canvas do this automatically but it would look better with a photo edge IMO.

only if you are not framing it - I assumed framing as that usually looks best.

A friend got one of these canvases done - the place that did it just mirrored the edges where it wrapped and it works quite well.

The black squares in the corners would be folded under so would be like this - is more natural than trying to increase the amount of sky would be

Try printing it then folding it to see the effect.

I am assuming you have a larger resolution version that you would be using for the actual print - if thats the case let me know where I can grab it from, the actual print size and the thickness of he canvas board and I will sort this out for you if you like.

Its a frameless (as in conventional sense) canvas type thingy, a wooden internal frame and the canvas wrapped around it, you can see all four sides hence i wanted a pic edge rather than white.

I presume you could get the his res pic from my album on photobucket as ive uploaded full res to there?

Do you like the mirror image round the side effect tho?

Want me to do what I did above to the full res one for you?

Whats the size of the print going to be - and whats the thickness of the frame - I'll set it up just right then :)

Or, send me a link to the photobox product and I'll get what I need from there :)

It seems the one you linked here was already the hi-res version, so give it a go with the one I already put up here :)
