View Full Version : Fitting tyres - the term "loose wheel"?

This is probably a really daft question. I've e-mailed around for a set of new PR3's for my SV. I received an e-mail back saying "These are £301.83 fitted to the machine or £261.83 to loose wheel."
So does "loose wheel" mean I'm paying for the tyres without having them fitted? So I'd have to fit them myself?
Thanks :)

No, loose wheel means just that - you take just the wheels in.

Loose wheels are unlike loose women.
Not very attractive but cheaper in the spare tyre department.

you could always just slacken the wheel nuts off a bit and ride in, demanding they give you the loose wheels price ... or maybe not!\\:D/
Include your location in your sig. and someone will recommend a supplier/fitter in your area. Those prices sound way too high.

I'm from the Hull area. I've e-mailed about 5 tyre fitters that I found online but only one has replied so far.

+1. There are times when a phone call is much better than an email! And if you're speaking to them there and then you can ask questions such as what "loose wheels" means rather than waiting for replies back and forth when their job doesn't much involve sitting at a computer all day and watching for an email alert to popup.
