Well well - the rain that was forecast for tonight has been replaced by clear skies and frost, with a good outlook for Sunday.

See you tomorrow Trev!;)
EDIT: Wideboy, I've also been out on the bike today, was nice this afternoon lets hope more of the same for tomorrow!

Worked on all three vehicles tonight!
-Put new fuel cap release actuator in Passat. Fuel cap still won't open. Not enough juice coming down the wire for some reason. Very strange. Having to open fuel cap from inside the boot atm.
- Took air box pipe off at turbo end and checked turbo. Some black oily gunk but no play in the impeller, so at a loss again as to whether turbo is fecked or not!
- Did the usual brake level fix on gixxer to get it running smooth again. The fix is take it off then put it back on again. Nothing else. Proper head feck! Might just get a new lever from a scrappy as there's obviously something catching and binding in there.
But basically ready to rock for tomorrow! :)
I hereby upgrade myself to a "probable" for tomorrow unless I get any sudden demands for more spreadsheet shenanigans overnight.
Took the steering damper off the bike this afternoon and found it to be pretty notchy and lumpy which may not have been helping my random cornering issues so if I do make it I will be sans-damper so either back to a cornering demon, or will be sat in the field next to the first right-hander or won't make a blind bit of difference.
Mr.Ace interested in a 09:30ish Tesco meet (I may alternatively be in a field my the canal)

Sounds like a plan. I need to top up and check tyre pressures, so I'll be ready and waiting for 0930.;)
I'll text you by 09:15 if I have to blow out.

after a rather crappy day which started off with a nose dive in my hallway on my way out at 07.15 this morning; followed by several hours of pain on the sofa and the consumption of a bottle of Aberlour, I'm hopefully going to make this in the morning, even if it requires strapping some steel supports around this frustratingly unreliable knee joint.
Cheers Mark.

Wheres Jobs post with the route in it? Could have sworn I saw it.
Was in the other thread I believe.
Just saw the map. If the breakfast venue doesn't play ball we can turn left, go to east 'hayling and go back to that blue cafe we did last time. Also simple to take in my windy road on the way back for anyone heading back up my way.

Great to meet you all today. Got home at 3:30 or so. The ride back was a LOT warmer than the ride down, thank goodness. Apologies again for missing the marked turn on the way down (d'oh!) partly causing the loss of two from the group for a while and I have to say that missing the all you can eat brekkie was probably a good thing - apart from the old farts passing rude comments in our direction the sun trap outside the seafront caff where we stopped was great.
One small warning for anyone likely to meet members of the (extended) GM - make sure you're not a vegetarian as they do like to delplete the meat supplies of wherever they stop :o

Good ride out and turn up today! Good to meet you FG1 and Trev. Hopefully we'll be seeing you on more ride outs in the future.

The more offended the old people were the better.
You would think by that age they'd have heard and seen it all before.
I think that the 12 of us bought more business to that cafe in one go than the old people do in a year

just back in myself, it's got a lot colder when the sun went down, you lot definitely got the best bit of the day, nice fryup, Oh and Gav; you're not the only one to lose something, I distinctly remember putting 34 ltrs of petrol in my tank, but it seems to have gone :smt102.
;)
Oh got some pics, will sort later.
Cheers Mark.
did someone take a 'slight' detour on the way home???

Ok, so the reason I didn't fill up is because my speedo isn't working. That doesn't make sense on the face of it, until you realise no speedo means no milage counter! Speedo works 50% of the time and therefore by the time we got to the petrol station it only read 30miles since fill up! So I didn't bother to fill up. Petrol light came on on the way home with only 60 miles on the clock. Took me a while to twig what was going on! How many miles did we actually do?
Anyway, pretty sure it's not working correctly because of the sheer amount of gunk under my sprocket cover that I didn't bother to clean out when I did the chain.

That makes more sense! So I probably did 130 on that tank.
Great day out, fab weather except the frost in the morning..
Nice meeting you lot again, more invites for other regions and they will come to play....
Thanks for a great day everybody.
Pity I had to head straight back after the cafe stop but as the wife has had a major op it's the least I can do after she let me play out for the day.
Looking forward to the next time already.

The pics really do justice to the weather, really did turn out quite warm for this time of year, or that could be down to the amount of layers I was wearing!

When you "did" your chain did you actually put any lube on it? There seemed to be plenty on your back wheel covering the terrible colour but not that much where it would help the drive most.

What a fabulous 'tasche!!!
Although I do look a bit fat in that pic. It's the layers required to prevent hypothermia of course...

Yeppers, but it's the dry thin type so you can't see it and because the chain is new it has yet to collect that nice smattering of road filth that proves it's greasy. :)
