Insurance companies don't need proof of the restriction

Insurance companies shouldn't ask for proof as its only a piece of paper. You could easily take the restrictor off and still have the paperwork saying its restricted making it pointless to ask for the paperwork. It'll only be checked if you have an accident and the insurance company is trying to find a way of not paying out, hope this helps

Thanks for clearing that up guys. I guess it makes sence that a piece of paper is worthless if you dont actually restrict the bike, just thought that insurance might need something (they seem to want proof of everything else). As for restricting the bike im searching high and low for a ecu (quoted £625 from fullers) so if anyone knows where i could get one please let me know. If i cant get one is a washer and throttle stop kit the only option? They seem like a cheaper option, but heard it may run rich. May have to buy one whilst hunting for a ecu as really want to take my new toy out......

Gutted. Mines a sk3, so im after a 2003-2007 one connector type. As a new biker and sv owner is there any faults with the sv that i should look out for?

I saved a search through eBay under 'sv650 restriction' and everytime a listing goes up I get an email.
I bought one a month back for £60, he put it up as bidding at £30 but I emailed him offering £60 and he took it..
Just keep an eye out

No mate! It's going onto my lads SV. I didn't know that you could get an ECU, but glad I don't have to go through the hassle of the washers and throttle stop.

Andyrz The washer and throttle stop are not to bad to fit to be honest I just want full throttle and my bike to run better lol.
