View Full Version : Twin Renegade Exhausts

I have for sale my set of carbon Renegade race exhausts which I obtained along with my SV last May.

I have never used them on the road as I feared waking Satan himself and getting 3 points along the way. However I fitted one of the cans in my garden (couldn't remove the jubilee clip capping off the other link pipe), resulting in screaming cats and a huge grin on my face!

It sounded amazing, a real roar, I can only imagine what it'd be like having fitted them both!

The bike had less than 1,300 miles when I bought it and the previous owner used them on the road but not for all of said miles, thus they have not been used a great deal.

There are a couple of little scratches as a result of storage but nothing significant, most exhausts have a few dings.

Pictures will be added, however I haven't uploaded pics on here for some time so am not quite sure of the process so if they don't appear I will post a reply containing them.

I must stress these are NOT road legal!

Also I haven't a clue about an asking price, tried doing a bit of research but haven't found much!

Note: There are just two exhasts and two clamps, no link pipes! How the previous owner fitted them to my bike is to have a section of pipe welded into the hader pipe as you cansee on one o the attatched pictures.

Cheers, Ant

Ant - one of the org rules is that you must post a price for all items in the for sale section.

If it is any help, I paid £660!!! when I bought my set brand new from Jorge in 2001. A lot of money, but worth every penny at the time;)

Good luck with the sale.

Matt - I am aware of said rule, however I am not sure of their value.

I understand that they are no longer manufactured and that they are top quality items in a very good condition; based upon this I will ask for £400 collected.

I do no want to ask too much, nor too little, does this sound reasonable? Any help on valuation is appreciated.

I'll add to the recommendation for them, I've got a pair of Rene's on mine, and they're cracking for a nice deep sound - to the point where people think it's the SV1000 when I pull up (as I don't have the 650 stickers on anymore).

Why are you not selling the mid-section with the cans?

The point is, without the modded section, the price being asked is an overly optimistic one.

If I were to be interested in them, I'd have to factor in the time(read fraffing about) and money that'd it'd cost me, to mod a mid section.

My advice(for what it's worth) woukld be, buy an unmodded mid section and then you can sell it as a 'ready to bolt staright on' ....

Apart from the above, I like them...I've had them on my previous SVs ;)

ps: post is meant to be helpful but if it happens to cause any offence, feel free to ask one of the mods to remove it.

.

Have to agree, picked up twin renegade cans for my previous bike for a lot less, they are afterall a common slip on size, on the plus size they are superb sounding cans.

Why are you not selling the mid-section with the cans?

In order to sell the mid-section I need to remove the entire header pipe and take it to a local welder to have him remove the modded section and close the hole that there will be in the pipe (he said he needs it removing prior to carrying out the work).

I ride every day so cannot afford to be without my bike; plus I will need a car to put the pipe in for transport.

My advice(for what it's worth) would be, buy an unmodded mid section and then you can sell it as a 'ready to bolt staright on' ....

I'm not inclined to buy an unmodded mid-section; they come as they are, or if I can get any free time I will whack the mid-section off my bike and chuck it in.

As I have stated in previous posts 'I am not sure of their value'.

All offers will be considered so don't be afraid of putting an offer in! Or PM me, either way :)

Price is now £250.

It's not just getting tugged; I have a Fuel can with the baffle in and it wakes people up in the morning so if I installed them I'd probably be homeless.

That might have been how Jorge fitted them, I remember that fitting twin hi levels was quite involved. I never had the cash to spring for Renegades, but on the SV they sounded awsome used to set car alarms off.
Any idea what happened to Jorge?

Afaik Jorge and Tomoko went back to Portugal about 7 years or so ago.

i think you'll get what you want for them selling them just as the cans individually as slip ons.... on the dreaded fleabay

then sell the link pipes seperate .... just my 2cents

shame the header is not for sale too :( they would have sold in seconds. maybe buy a complete front section, replace then sell as a whole bolt on package?

Think I will stick 'em on fleabay. If they go on I'll put a link on here
