Artistic type recommendation please

I inherited some ivory and looking for somebody who can cut it down and carve it into the design[s] I want so if anybody has any recommendations I would be grateful.

You may need to prove it is inherited old ivory or has some sort of provinance as legally sourced. Even though some has been released by CITES in recent years.


I doubt there are many in the UK who have experience of working the stuff.

Carve it into an animal horn of some sort!

My father[deceased] worked in Africa for 35 years for Crown Agents and brought it home in the 50's already carved. The one large piece I want remodelled is from a set of seven tribal heads.I can't prove the provenance beyond that so can't sell any of it.
Table lamps,ebony and ivory chess set and board,and various tribal carvings plus some animals.
I personally don't approve but I did not buy it,I've just got it.

All the ornate carving is done by Chinese folk I believe, although I have seen some intricate stuff from Africa.

Not much help, but its a specialist field
