Totally thought it was fake by the title and whole "why would you be filming that in the first place" but wwwwwoooooooooaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!
Haha, saw this on Yahoo earlier. You beat me to it! How incredible was that? The kid dropped from a height too. Incredible.

:-DFrom wiki
Most prey taken are around half the weight of the predating eagle, with a typical prey weight range of 0.5–4 kg (1.1–8.8 lb), though this eagle will sometimes fly with prey equal to or slightly heavier than its own weight (4–7 kg (8.8–15 lb)).
Guess the poor kid had just enough weight to be too much to carry. If you ever needed a reason for explaining your childs weight you now have it... "It's not fat, it's eagle deterrent"
Our 13 month old is definately "eagle-safe"

I hate being one of these FAKE nobbers, but it is fake. I'd love this stuff to be real. Watching crazy wildlife vids makes the world far more interesting. Alas, alarm bells rung for me as soon as the "oh sheet" comment was half arsed and the child's parent only casually turns and jogs over to it. So like a proper killjoy I searched again and there's a vid which demonstrates just how bad the CGI looks without the camera shake to disguise it.
Sorry, killjoy signing out.

Still a fabo bird. Saw three in Scotland a few years ago - made my day.

It's not entirely unbelievable, large eagles are entirely capable of taking small goats and sheep which probably weigh same if not more than a toddler.
Where's the link to this other vid? The "Oh sheeet" sounded like one of massive surprise as it was unexpected.... And seeing as the child wasn't being watched because the parent was attending to another kid then a bit of shock might have slowed down parent's reaction no?

Agreed, it's totally possible. I thought it was real to start with. If you copy and paste the title of the vid and add 'fake' to that in the search bar on yourtube, you get a few vids though. Slowed down and zoomed in you can see the movements are really quite awkward and poorly animated. The camera shake disguises it.

It was a project by a design studio ^

that's really crap, that penguin doesn't look even slightly realistic! Fair play to the vid makers though, it was convincing!
