Hi everyone, I'm looking to get a stubby exhaust to actually let this beast talk, just wondering what your opinions are on whether I should buy one with a baffle or not. Thanks very much

Before you get too far ahead of yourself an exhaust without a baffle is illegal on British roads.

If you want to let your "beast" talk you might as well go for a good quality can, rather than just becoming a nuisance

buy one with a removable baffle. ive got a scorpion stubby and with the baffle in its louder then the standard rocket launcher but the neighbours wont hate you during the nights. it also wont affect your mot test.

If you take the baffle out then its a complete different story. I have had no probs with the police as of yet :-)

Thanks very much for your replies. I've looked into the scorpion yesterday and it looks like the perfect option if I could get the money together. Been looking at the Delkevic stubby pipes and they look very nice with the large outlet

Does it fail your MOT having a very loud exhaust on?

That depends on the tester,
the offical reason for rejection is this:-
ref section 7.1
A silencer that is in such a condition or is of such a type that the noise emitted is clearly in excess of that which would be produced by a similar machine fitted with a standard silencer in average condition.
3. A silencer marked ‘NOT FOR ROAD USE’, ‘TRACK USE ONLY’ or similar words

I got the delkavic stubby with large slash cut outlet, not road legal but havent had any issue yet even with being pulled. Excellent quality for price and looks great. If you want it to talk, this makes it shout, sounds amazing but is loud but i love it ;)

Thanks for all your input. The slash cut carbon is one that I'm looking at but the stainless version. Does look amazing

You can allways buy a baffle and fit it after if it doesnt come with one.
Hand for MOT looks like your trying

I had a Beowolf Warrior, shorter that the standard pointy but it isnt exactly a stubby. sounded great on the old bike with and without the baffle!

Beowolf do other cans and i think some "proper" stubby's too, worth checking out as a reasonable price

Why does everyone go for the 200mm delkevic? not that you will notice much but you must be losing performance. Why not check out the cheaper m4 exhausts? or if you still fancy something a little louder then look at A16, pipe werx or spengineering?

Why would you loose performance?

Mine restricted so dunno if that why it aint made a difference to 0-60 but with my 200mm delkevic i got a better top end of 110mph rather than 105mph on same road 2 days prior

Well i would have thought it wouldnt have very much back pressure and therefore create a flat spot in the rev range! However if you wherevto dyno it, it would be very minimall like 1-2bhp!

Theres a dyno of it here... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-SV650-S-03-09-Mini-Round-Carbon-Fibre-Exhaust-Silencer-Muffler-/271024902944?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3 D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D4451057812558955258%26pid%3 D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D271024902944% 26

In that case there are shed loads of bikes running around illegally. A standard exhaust is say for instance 60db with most after maket cans being 80db and without a baffle 95db. Yet again MOT info a waste of time.

I like the Danmoto exhaust for the SV. It sounds good without being too loud, it looks good with a carbon fibre finish and is relatively inexpensive.
