Hi,

Just wen't to ride my sv curvy and as I pulled out of my drive the front brakes have seized after applying them? This also happened last week after I did'nt ride for 3 weeks?

I would say your brakes need servicing.

If you hadn't washed them after all the road salt has been down the pistons might have "furred" or you have for something caught in a piston and this is causing them not to retract

Don't take any risks - get your brakes serviced properly. Even if you have to get the bike collected it will be money well spent.

They're simply enough to service yourself, they're basic brakes no ABS etc so just grab a manual you can download them for free, some brake cleaner and some anti-seize or copper grease.

You might find the dust seals are hanging out. Mine were when I bought the bike, but I dont use them anyway. I Clean them up and renew fluid seals. Dust seals seem to cause me more problems then they solve. Though I suggest you have them serviced properly as I strip brakes every spring anyway, unsure how long they'd stay good if neglected, which I feel the dust seals allow you to do when they're working.
