View Full Version : Stupid things we do for pleasure

Yesterday was blowing a gale , the rain was coming down like stair rods but still I put on my gear and headed off to the river with a mate to try and temp out a few pike.
Good grief it was a struggle with the wind whipping up the river from the sea , and the fields slowly turning into lakes , but you know what!
We loved it , maybe it was just fighting and winning against the odds that made it a pleasure , maybe it was the feeling of getting back to nature or maybe it was the latent caveman in us .
Were we slighty damp? oh yes
Were we all muddy? mmmmm yup
Did we slip on our asses? definately
Are we going again ? try to stop us .
Any one else out there do things that has others scratching their heads(appart from motorcycles of course, thats too obvious)

Not been out for a while now but Kite Buggying is sometimes a tad confusing for some folk....

Fishing. Man against fish. TBH if I fished, I'd keep quiet about it - it doesn't seem to be aiming very high... :-)

chalk streams ????? na , thats just down on the border with Dorset.
Here we have the largest wetlands outside the Broads.
All the fields used to be under water and are drained by artificial drains and rhynes
