View Full Version : For puppy lovers and Holst lovers
Fallout

Finally got round to editing all the vids I recorded in the summer of our puppy Duke (no longer this cute). All filmed on the Drift and edited to Gustav Holst - Mars. Makes an interesting and slightly funny memory road of his now distant youth. :D

Hey Chris, Duke really liked you. I think he saw you as some sort of woolly plaything.

Chris was Duke's entertainment while all the adults were talking. :D <-- I don't put myself in that adult category btw.

At least Duke didn't pee on my foot. That's what a friend's young dog did and I was told it was because he was so excited to meet me. I was excited when I met Desmond Tutu but I didn't feel the need to urinate on his shoes.

Very funny Simon, a lovely idea. I wish similar could have been done with YC's black Lab, he did some crazy crazy things in his time. They are daft dogs. "What shall I chew.....aha! A spiky holly leaf!"

Cheers Maria. He loves those holly leaves. He's always out finding new ones. His new trick is to throw it into the air as high as he can by throwing his head back. He's so far managed to hit me in the face once. Not impressed! :D

What was going on with that lawn? Part mowed, part bare...
Fallout

Good question Trev and also highly appropriate. :-P The part that is raised is filled with roots from that old tree trunk. That's now sleepers and gravel. The bare bits are where the previous owner had lots of rubbish things like a sink as a bird bath and various other bits of crap. It's a work in progress. :)

Bet you won't be so keen at him running at that speed when he's bigger. When our dog runs in silly mode, its not a good idea to stand there with a camera. Staff head at nuts height doesn't end well!! He's a big clumsy dog.

He's almost fully grown now Lou. Only 25kg, but he no longer has the privilege of being allowed to leap onto my lap, lest I forgo the pleasure of having gonards.

25 kgs is quite a lump to be jumping into a lap. Bob is quite a bit heavier. He likes to sit on our sofa while we are out, he may be big, but he curls up like a cat and pretends he's not there. Quite compact for a dog on stilts!

Gotta love dogs. :) Duke is weird. Not interested in the sofas. He'll come up when we call him on and spend a few minutes trying to devour our faces and generally cause trouble, but gets off a few minutes later. Plus he isn't interested in food. Food vs toys, it's toy every time. He has to be really hungry for his dinner otherwise he can't be arsed with it. Stupid dog!

Bob doesnt have toys. Well actually he does, outside. He loves football's, but they last 30 secs before they are flat. He has rubber bones but he doesn't care for them much. Food on the other hand......... Toddlers are Bob height and they place titbits generously in his mouth. Pity usually the kid wants it back! Bad bob!!

Iggle cat plays with toys. Piggle looks on disdainfully. If I try and get Piggle to play with the toy mouse he saunters off outside and comes back ten minutes later with a half dead real mouse as if to say "Stupid woman. If I want to play mousey I will get my own".

9 months now. Long way on from that vid. It's a nice bit of nostalgia for me and the mrs. :)
