... in this video?

I was just checking through some old bike footage and this was the first video snippet I looked at. It's just perfect.

So why aren't we organising a Mid/North Wales trip this year? It is fecking glorious I tell you.

Your laptop couldn't even play YouTube music vids with static video when we were at your place! Why not upgrade to an abacus? :D

Back up your data and restore it to factory, it's probably full of crap.

In all honesty, that video is pretty much entirely at the speed limit. 30s in all 30s, 40 in all 40s and you can't get much over national with those corners. The wide angle lens makes it seem faster than it actually is.

That videos just for the GM.

We put in on during every meet and critique it extensively.

oh, silly me and my thinking we all share the interest of being top riding guru's

Spank86

I'll leave that to mark.

Apparently if you want to be a proper guru you have to stop washing.

Did the video get more interesting later on? I fell asleep after a minute or so.

I know you were expecting Songs of Praise Trev. These are motorbikes. Mo-tor-bikes.

Does it include the bit where I overtake you... in a transit van?

Not a GM vid! A GMer and assorted orgers, keep up man!

I smell a trip to south Wales?!?

@Fallout - We will have to make a GM vid when I come down for a blast, as long as you can blank my plate! Shame you haven't still got the one where you comment about the 2 random bikes blasting past, then "vroooom" "and there goes Nathan"!

Runako, no GM in there. Except Fallout riding . . .

Maybe you got the point Laurie! i.e. Brilliant roads, no cars, why haven't we made plans to visit yet?

Dude, don't tarnish the whole GM with the big headed brush. That thread started out as a little pointer to newbies. Some comments have made it seem like we think we're all WSB riders. The majority of us don't consider ourselves mega riders.

I smell a trip to south Wales?!?

Yes! I'd prefer a base in mid Wales though, then far more awesome roads to choose from, north and south. Snowdonia is mega!

I did, but in the interest of you not incriminating yourself it is set to unlisted and I won't be posting it here. :p

Just a joke mate, that thread served its purpose well. I also wouldn't be surprised if your group are very good (and not just in the middle between good and bad) simply because of the number of rideouts GM organises. You can't help but improve with practice and guidance. Was more of a reference to my request for GM Vids (yes, I know its not a GM rideout) but no one else seems to post vids of their rideouts. Good video, looks like an entertaining ride.

Runako, seeing as how you failed miserably to organise anything last year in your ministerial role I suggest you get your thinking hat on for a NWGuildford ride-out late spring.

ALL you need to sort is :-
- decent weather
- affordable accommodation
- a date (not half-term and not too close to AR13)
- a route with some decent roads (can't be hard out your way)
- an understanding parent/partner to produce a dozen or so bacon sarnies on demand when we get there.

Get to it!

Yeah, experienced and competent is indeed a fair assumption, and as you said, not because of superhuman ability. It's just because we ride all the time. :)

Tom only brought his once AFAIK and never bothered to even look at the footage. Lazy gits. At least I've made 2 or 3 vids of us two, 2 org vids, that help for heroes vid and then some others. My finger is only partially up my bumhole, where as Tom's is so wedged he's tickling his tonsils.

When I went to Wales with the other lot we rented a self catering house. It worked out as £50 each, and it was awesome. Loads of space, two lounged, huge kitchen, balcony/decking, proper showers etc. and really good for chilling out in the evening. Civilised!

If it rains and you're camping, you don't have a dry base to go back to, and if you go to a pub you'll probably spend almost as much in alcohol and food over the weekend as we did on accommodation. B&Bs and things like that are crap for socialising. Hotels are too expensive.

Really, if you can get 6 peeps into a self catering holiday house it's awesome. I am happy to cook, as long as I can first dibs on the prostitute we hire.

Lol! For a GM Spring tour I think this would be the best idea. The house is probably gonna be a lot easier to get on with. Especially if anyone needs space to make "adjustments" to their bikes. A weekend is good for all the reasons Fallout mentioned and also agree that Mid Walses would be a good starting point, although I would be advocating routes more down South for obvious reasons.

I suppose with the weather as it is, there is no better time to propose a Spring Rideout so I will get on it Mark_H!

Ahem... with 3 showers in the house you still chose to use my en-suite (I'd paid double everyone else to have the big bed) and then left your towel on my towel rail so I accidentally dried my face on it after you'd dried your bum. [Shudder]

And I did more cooking than anyone else and I didn't get any prostitutes - unless you count sharing a bed with Chris8886.

Not just me then.

I do love those roads though. Had a great time avoiding the M40/M42/M6 slog up to F-in-Law's one time by going through Wales. Almost to Brecon on the A40 then headed north towards Newtown before heading right towards Shrewsbury. Also had a great holiday in Snowdonia - first one with the lunatic that became Lady Poppy - which was great fun on our respective 250's.

If you can prostitute snoring then yes I count that.

I think you should go this weekend - you'd probably get a great last minute deal on a cottage somewhere.

The dental nurses at my surgery were meant to be going on a trip this weekend. The one helping my dentist yesterday morning was very skeptical of their chances of getting there. So you're probably right LPH.
