SV1000 raditor fit SV650K6?

right guys,

i took it to be repaired and had to take it back again as it was still leaking,
guess what

its still leaking agin !!!!!

now a friend has a brand new bottle of Bluecol radiator sealer and is bringing it around tomorrow.

Now do i use it? or not. if no then why ?

would a svthou radiator fit my sk6?

i really cannot be arsed with miver of taking it back and forth to this repair * specialist* as its alot of time and fuel money its eating up, which i dont have.

If it was me, I would be storming down there and asking them for a refund/ solution even if it ment they were out of pocket for pure principle of the matter.

Dont try and repair it yourself as this will be their excuse of saying you tampered with it.

Claim the fuel back from them and moan about them wasting your time!

I can't see them refunding me, it's a 10 mile drive away, about 30/40 minute drive to their unit as its right through the city centre, so £5 for a return trip every time, cost me £25 for them to repair it, as bibio and others reckon, there using a two part putty, I've got milliput my self!

So cost so far £25 repair £10 fuel that day
£5 fuel two day laters and waited outside the shop for 50 minutes whilst he repaired it again.

I have no other transport and my dad is far too busy to spare a hour or two to go there and back again.

Wow doesnt sound the best mate...

Well you could always try using putty/ radweld but its going to give up the ghost eventually!

yes you can use sealer but once sealed then i would flush the system.

TBH what they have done you could have done yourself very easily. what you want is somewhere that does ally welding to put a patch on it.

Lance, how long after If I use sealer, would it take to seal? And would flushing with boiled water be ok?

By flushing empty out coolant with sealed in, put water in, run it for a minute or two then empty again? Then refill system with fresh coolant?

I hear you, I'm having no end of radiator problems myself. I'm on my second in under a year and now this one is leaking too. I tried Radweld, didnt help at all and mine are only small leaks. I cut up an inner tube, a section with the valve and put them over the inlet and outlet and clamped them in place, used a 12v compressor and a baby bath to fine the location, removed some fins and watched for the bubbles.
Going to get some araldite today, see if that will hold it till I have some cash.

Punkyp, it's so stupid, I've had a full rad guard on for ages, and with it on it developed it a leak?! It's seems like its comeing from the seem at on the left side block might be the right now

Mine is also coming from where the tube joins the block at the side, not sure if it is caused by corrosion. (Un)Luckly I have 2 radiators. So the one that isn't on I can have a go at, while I just keep topping up.


Do be careful with the stuff you are buying, I've read about people getting overheating problems with these leak fixing solutions. You'll have to calculate how much to use and not just bang it all it.

i know have some form of radweld to use, can i not empty the system and put just water in it, to add the radweld to ? so i dont have to waste coolant.
