Hi all,
I've loved having my SV but I've decided that rather than try and get mine tracked-up I'd like to get myself one already to go for next year so selling up to put the money towards one.

I got her last summer with around 35k on the clocks, I've added about 60 since! Shame on me, I know it was summer but I'm a busy boy with family and work etc!!
The engine is still strong with no nasty noises. The previous owner assured me that he serviced it every 2.5K miles with new oil, filters and plugs. The battery was replaced last year and some Oxford heated grips were fitted although these aren't connected at the moment. I've had the battery hooked up to an Optimate over winter to keep it in good nick. There are a few receipts for work done.
Has MOT till June 2013.
The rear tyre is almost new. It has a road legal Delkevic exhaust with a removable baffle which sounds very nice.
V5 is present and in my name.

That's the good points, now a couple of bad points;
Firstly, the small section on the front of the nose cone is a slightly different shade of blue. Its not a big issue, but worth mentioning.
I might have a spare one knocking about which is a better match you're welcome to. Secondly when the bike was 4 yrs old, it was subject to a Category D insurance claim (Repair costs do not exceed pre-accident value), I was told it was just fairing damage.

The bike is available to view in Leighton Buzzard (near Milton Keynes). The bike's on a 'SORN'.

+1 at this price they're pushing really close to the winter hack price bracket.

Cat D will be putting most folk off, seriously though Cat D is nothing at all. Cat C and yeah maybe take it with a pinch of salt but Cat D is just plain stupid, hell you'd get a cat d for someone pour break fluid on it and it needing a replacement set of plastics completely ZERO mechanically wrong with it.

It's crazy I know. Any bike over a couple of years old that suffers even relatively minor damage is at risk of being a Cat D. Still, at this price it really should be irrelevant as you say. Hell, I would have considered buying it myself if I hadn't just bought my SV ;)

Well you say it's the cat D putting people off, I'd be more inclined to think the 90'000+ miles might have something to do with it :D

Apologies Messie but can I just step in for a second here!
Owenski and Pricey, cheers for your comments re the Cat D situation, like you say it doesn't take much when fairings cost a small fortune to replace.
As for the mileage, I know it's not low but hey it's hardly moon miles! For a bike that was used as a commuter (better than sat in a garage!), 2.5k miles a year isn't excessive.
Anyway, you're right, it is a lot of bike for the money and if it wasn't for the fact I've now got a track SV this would stay put.

Thanks, I'll get off my soap box now!

My son has just passed his test and someone is picking up his 125 on Wednesday all being well. I will show him this as he likes the SV's and i'd say its a steal at the price your asking.

Glad you and Dan are pleased with the bike Al, I'm the same as Dan, I passed my test only 18 months ago and the SV was my first big bike, he wont go far wrong with an SV - but we all know that anyway don't we!!

All the best,
Dave
