View Full Version : Any one good at maths could you work this out for me please..
Hi all,
I have been offered a new job as im fed up with getting up 3.30am so could you work the wages out please as I don't know where to start.
I would be working 7.30 till 5 Monday - Friday one week then,
7.30 till 5 Monday - Friday and 8 till 4 on the Saturday the next week.
The yearly pay would be £28000 before tax and NI.
Can you work out what the weekly will be please as one week would be less than the other.
If you can do it after tax and NI that would be great.
Many thanks...

Just half the hours for Saturday for hourly rate.
If your on salary then they won't be breaking it down that far anyway, just paying monthly rate based on you doing the hours in your contract.

You wouldn't get less pay each week if it's a PA salary, you'd surely get a constant monthly income?

42.5 hours one week, then 48.5 the next.
2366 hours a year, 11.83 a hour.
So per tax : week1 = £502.78 week2= £573.76
Tax, new personal allowance is £9440, so £181.54 tax free a week. After tax
W1 £438.53 w2£501.29
Just need to work out ni err give 5 minutes and I'll get on hmrc

Yes as daddy job says, on a salary you get paid monthly
Its paid weekly trying to see if I can afford to take it really as its a pay cut but the hours are a lot better and its nearer to home :)

You might want to check but I reckon it'll be the same pay each week with the Saturday split between them.

Surely they would just even it out over the year £28k divided by 52? Bit complicated for them to have two different pay levels.
