As per the poll....

Just making the teas to go with Friday morning sandwiches and there are 5 different ways that people like their tea....

Just wondered what the Org liked...

Mine is: Leave the tea bag in for as long as possible, two sugars, a dribble of milk - Comes out a lovely shade of orange.

Milk no sugar thanks, are you delivering?

Tetley or Yorkshire bags as preference.

I like a nice Darjeeling or Assam, warm the pot and allow to brew for at least 5 mins before pouring into a china tea cup.

What I actually get is a Yorkshire tea (don't ask) bag shoved in a mug and a splash of milk

And for those of us who enjoy it with NO milk (with or without lemon)?

hahahahahahahahahhahahaha....breath....hahahahahah ahahahaha.

Had so many hopeless cups of tea made for me over the years in the office I gave up liking it in a specific way. As long as it tastes vaguely of tea now I don't really care.

Ewwww, no tea thanks, I don't do coffee either. It gets in the way of my massive Cocaine addiction!

Actually, can I have a glass of summer fruits squash made with lemonade please? I don't like hot drinks unless I am really cold and then it is hot juice or hot chocolate. :D

Ok, we have now deviated from the original subject which was tea to hot drinks.

So, Decaffeinated coffee. What is the purpose? FFS the only reason I drink coffee is for a shot of caffeine.

I'm glad to see we don't have any of these "show the tea bag to water for 1/10th of a second". I'll have words with any man or woman that doesn't give their tea a good brewing. All those little flavour particles and anti-oxidants making the arduous journey from the middle of the tea bag into the water end up in the bin? Shame on you! SHAME ON YOU!

coffee by choice (black normally too), but i'll drink tea quite happily, but the bag has to be squeezed good and proper like, as has been said no just show it to the water for a second rubbish!

+1 on the Assam tea, I've got a box at work now too for the rare times I have tea here but I'd rather have tea I enjoy.

I seem to be pretty average with "Leave the bag in and give it a little squeeze at the end (ooh err)...", "1 or 2 sugars" and "Milk until it's just the right colour..."

Although I rarely leave it to sit for very long, I'm impatient and of the belief that saturation can be achieved just as well through squeezing and releasing the tea bag.

To Iraq I hope.

Sounds harsh, but apparently they drink more tea per person than anyone else in the world. Weird fact of the day. That was my reasoning.

They might get shot too. That'll show em!!! :smt031

PG tips. Bag in, water on and LEAVE IT ALONE for 2 mins. Remove bag with no squeezage. Milk to effectively return the level of the water to the same height it was when the bag was in (easy around here as uber-hard water so instant scum mark) consistently fab tea. Prefer skimmed milk in tea but that's because I'm built like a racing snake and avoid fat at all times.

All flash-dunkers and over-milkers should be locked up for the good of the community.

PG Tips is rubbish. My mum drank PG tips all her life, so I did too. Then one day I bought some Tetley and was converted. I then beat my mum up a bit and told her to do the same. She bought some and never looked back after 50 years drinking PG. So if an old crone of 60 changes after 50 years, then Tetley is obviously better. No other statistics or scientific research required. It is fact. 60 year old woman changed over = conclusive proof.

Not an option for the pre-warmed pot--I tea spoon of leaves per cup and one for the pot--take pot to boiling water and fill--leave to infuse.
Nowt like a "proper" cup of tea with a bit of taste that will give you a brown lining to your ribs.Milk to taste and three sugars but don't stir it as I don't like it sweet

Please remember to use a tea strainer when pouring or get a mouthful of tea leaves as you finish the cup/mug[cough spit splutter--swear]

Hmmmm. With so much variation in taste (such as having so little of it you enjoy tea), how can any of us non tea drinkers possibly learn how to make it? Is there a generic socially acceptable procedure for the brewing of fully inclusive tea for visitors? I usually try to suggest that they might like a coffee, then point out there is no milk if they push the idea of this tea business.

I know. When i was travelling the world, my aversion to both tea and the game of soccer left people very confused as to my nationality.

No, you're screwed mate. You'll never make the right cup of tea without some sort of divine intervention. However it's commonly accepted that a bad cup of tea is better than no cup of tea for a proper tea drinker, so you're still doing them a kindness. :)

No sugar and I leave the bag in. That started years ago when doing snack runs in between adverts as it's quicker to make. You grow to love that last strong bit at the end.

I used to love tea until I had that little off in Thailand and now I can't touch the stuff. Something to do with banging my head I reckon.

On Monday we have a PR event at Lord's to announce a new sponsor of England's Cricket Team. Yorkshire Tea!

So 'Little Urn' which is a converted ice cream van is coming and there will be lots of free YT given away. What's in it for me I ask?

Usually want tea when I am really tired physically, so its a full builders brew for me. Strong, lots of sugar and a bit of milk. Though the in laws drink LOTS of tea, so i've started having it a little more often, and a little less strong.

PG tips or Tetley. Leave bag in for two mins and give a good squeeze before removing the bag. No sugar, with a splash of milk. Should be a warm brown colour - ending up with a stained cup!

Needless to say, no one else can make a brew the way I like it.

This for ultimate preference, but with 2 sugars and made off a heaped tablespoon measure (4 teaspoons ish)

Yeah they rule, I read the nutritional info on one and it's about 450cals! Best hot choc ever though!

Apparently squeezing the teabag can affect the taste.

Tea Tea and more Tea, I'll drink it till it comes out me ears.

Aldi Gold label tea bags at home, a great blend of tea, better than Tetley or PG

If not I like Yorkshire Tea

English Breakfast is another fine brew, but definitely no Earl Grey!

Plus custard creams, choc chip cookies, ginger nuts or fruit shortbread biscuit to dunk

Loose tea, Assam or English Breakfast, proper pottery teapot, no sugar, full fat pasteurised milk in the cup first.
Teabags in mugs - spit!

Here's what I spent today doing - a launch for Yorkshire tea. I now have a goody bag containing tea pot, 2 mugs, branded mini cricket bat and ball and a toy 'Little Urn' plus of course a tea caddy and 180 tea bags. I don't drink tea so they have promised to bring me some of the Taylors of Harrogate coffee when they are back down for the Test match.

Very rarely drink the stuff tbh. I drink way too much coffee normally. However when I get the taste for tea I can go weeks of drinking nothing else followed by 6 months of abstention.

I hate what I call "navvy" teas like PG Tips and Brooke Bond etc.Way too strong for me. I love Earl Grey and darjeeling with the slightest splash of milk, heavenly.
