Thunderace can go and look at it for us and assess its suitability for us.

does anyone else find it a bit weird that a massive deal like that is appearing on an auction site like eBay, what with all the insane amount of conveyance and financing which would be required to sort the deal out?

It is weird it's on ebay, but I'm still game. I'm still bugged that me and Spank didn't buy the old underground reservoir station a few years back. This would be a suitable substitute. I am willing to sell my house. Begin negotiations.

I read about this on the news. It was bought by a developer for £4million around 5-6 years ago but they decided it wasn't suitable for their needs so put it back on the market. Apparently its been up fir sale for 3 years and the estate agent said eBay was a last heart to drum up interest as 'there is only so many property mags'

Being serious there is 1025 active forum members so that's 2.5 k each approx. the richer ones of us could put more in so us poorer ones don't struggle.
Org group buy?!

From a builders point of view, I would fecking love this site, the potential is unbelievable.

There is a building in one of the pics that could be a resteraunt straight away to pay for the upkeep.

Convert one of the more industrial buildings to rentable storage units.

Shotgun the one manning the defensive flamethrower towers and 50 cals!

Seriously, can you think of anything cooler than living on some crazy site with a massive underground section, with our own restaurant and sports facilities, and massive garage rammed full of bikes (and a few cars, obviously).

And best of all, since I am the only mug putting up my house, I would own the lion share so would be king. You would all have to bow down to me, provide me with access to your wives and daughters and offer your sons up to form my personal guard. Then we'll conquer the world, then the universe. The end.

I've never been in a cult, while £2.5k is cheap for a section of property, I give this utopia about 7 days before it goes full bore Lord of the Flies, with fallout screaming "I have the conch"

For that reason I'm out.

Then you will be a Banished One, condemned to a life of isolation and solitude outside the compound walls. Driven mad you shall find yourself indulging in acts of self mutilation and cannibalism, speaking only in words that sound like 'ooga booga wooga'. Fighting for survival in the ferocious and inhospitable Norfolk countryside, forever tormented by that nagging voice in the back of your head screaming at you "Why didn't I just live in the camp and be a slave? All I would've had to do was make Fallout the odd cup of tea and mow the lawn?"

You call bro. Your call.

I've thought it through and realise I may have been wrong.

It'll be "Animal farm" but Fallout will probably still be wandering round shouting "I have the conch"

add paintballing, airsofting, nerfwars and zombie/riot experience days to the portfolio

Fallout

I think all the above would have to happen all the time. I want to wake up in the morning and look out my window to see someone with a paintball gun being chased by a guy in a zombie suit. As I saunter down into the onsite canteen in my boxers, I expect whoever is running out cafe to raise money to be smoking a fag and shouting blue murder at the guy driving a go-kart through the canteen hall.

After breakfast I'd probably wonder into the garage to see what people were doing with their bikes. Sid squid would be fitting a turbo charger to my bike for fun, sort of zombie apocalypse briefing would be going on and 7 drunken GMers would be lying in a pool of their own vomit in the corner.

With that out of the way I'd wander to the office to start the days work, taking a shoulder massage from one of the GM ladies while I finish my cup of coffee. Then after booting up my compo I would be challenged to some sort of multiplayer gaming session, since our office is really just a room full of consoles and gaming PCs. I'd quickly dispatch them before getting in around 15-20 minutes of hard graft.

The lunch bell would sound and we'd all convene in the canteen for several pints and a game of pin the tail on the donkey, after which we'd retire to the underground garage and spend 3 or 4 minutes bouncing our bikes off the rev limiters so we're all deaf. Then those taking an extended lunch break would amble out to the rage buggy park and spend a couple of hours caning around the perimeter after each other, while the guys still playing paint ball use us for target practice.

That'd be one of the more chilled out days. I think it's realistic tbh.

She bought it for £250k in the end, cut the lid off and put a glass dome on.

There is a big underground water reservoir thing in the midlands somewhere that they use for cave diving training.

Man, back then we could've afforded that. 4 or 5 of us renting together, all in decent jobs. A 250k mortgage would've been nuttin'! :(

Wideboy

yep, it was actually quite nice inside, you wouldn't have guessed you where underground. No annoying neighbours, could create another bike entrance so when the world does end our bikes would be safe.

ahh WTF damn hippies have defaced it now.

If we're gonna buy a property can we make it this one? Doesn't have the land of the other option but, with a bit of decorating we'd be sorted...

We could also chip in and get this bit of road resurfaced...

Now I'm willing to live in the house look after it for everyone, and take you all on guided tours of the area... :)
