Route timings are from Google, You can expect to be able to do them considerably quicker if you so wish. All of them are reasonably enjoyable roads but dotted with villages.

It's worth noting that the areas dotted with B&Bs with varying prices which can be googled up but as I've never stayed in any I can't recommend them otherwise.

just to add i found this page, can't personally speak about them but they are all really close to the base camp. Scroll down to Hotels, they're cheap.

The reason I put all three is some people just want the roof and shower, others want a little more.

I would have put prices but they tend to change a lot.

Will be exactly the same as every other travellodge on the planet. Basic room, comfy bed, TV, shower, toilet. Cleanish but basic.

Well since you bring it up the one at Sutton scotney services isn't clean but I've been in lots of others and they all were.

Not been in the four marks one though. I'm sure it's not too bad four marks and Alton are quite posh.

Stayed in quite a few Travelodges but yet to find one with a comfy bed!;)

That being said if all you want is a bed and a shower, their prices are quite reasonable.
