While I'm waiting for my SV650s to be delivered tomorrow I've been reminiscing a bit over my previous bike - a Ducati Monster 695. This leads me to the question, Which bike has the better sound? The 695 was fitted with Termignoni slip ons, ECU upgrade and performance air filter with open airbox. In comparison, the SV only has a Viper end can. Obviously the Duc was air cooled and the SV is liquid cooled, but they are both twins with similar capacities and performance. So any opinions on which one makes better music? ;)

The SV. My mate had one of those wheezing wop things and it sounded really flat at the top end.

Hmm, I would go with ducati because its air cooled and...its a ducati

One thing I will miss about the Duc is the popping when you roll off the throttle. Very addictive!

SV does that too :)

When I first got mine it had a race can fitted - lots of pops and bangs from that one.

Well, I can now say the SV sounds awesome. Definitely on a par with the Monster. The only thing it's lacking is the induction roar. Time to add a K&N air filter to my shopping list I reckon ;)

The only monsters I've heard with a good sound track have had £1400 of Tergi's on and still were a little flat noted. Now a Paul Smart 1000 with Zard's on

Rode a 696 the other day and I have to say the noise when you crack the throttle is insane. I don't know about the 695 though :/

£1400 on some f***ing slipons?

Had someone taken complete leave of their senses?

Termignonis are silly money for what they are. The slip on's for my 695 were the best part of a grand. Madness really.

On the SV you'll get a full race system (that will actually do something) and probably some race cams for that :-)

Full m4 system is about 700 and I know how loud that is.

Yes, then again it was a very still and quiet evening. And it had blown all it's packing out about 30,000 miles previous to that. And they put a half decent bit of road on the way to a racetrack!
