I'm away on official business... not related to job's butt plug weekender though

Tomor

I can't believe no one has touched this yet... seriously

Astounded

Spank86
13-02-13, 09:42 AM
I wouldn't touch that with yours.

Mark_h
13-02-13, 09:43 AM
Sorry folks, TVAM on Sunday too so no chance of getting out Saturday.

PS, if any of the GM newbies are interested in advanced coaching, there are worse places to get it than TVAM.

Obviously you won't think it'll do you any good and you'll not turn up but thought I'd mention it anyway. http://www.tvam.org/

Spank86
13-02-13, 10:01 AM
I'm busy sunday too, otherwise I'd consider it.

Fallout

Me Jammy and Dan then. No wheelies this time.

ClunkintheUK
13-02-13, 10:54 AM
As a newbie, I would quite like to do the TVAM on sunday, but I am still very much a newbie.

Think I should be game for a ride.

I thought it was Gav who was normally up for ... nevermind.

ClunkintheUK
13-02-13, 10:54 AM
I could probably swing a ride on saturday too.

p.s. where is loomies?

ClunkintheUK
13-02-13, 10:56 AM
Sorry could have just Googled that myself.

Spank86

Clunk, I went to my first one a month after passing my test..

ClunkintheUK
13-02-13, 01:38 PM
Cool. Sounds like it might be a plan then.

Where do i sign up?

Mark_h
13-02-13, 01:49 PM
Turn up at St.Crispins school on Sunday 17th by 09:00 latest with a full tank of fuel and an open mind. Address is on the TVAM web site.

Go round the back of the school and follow the signs to the newcomers desk. You'll be given a chat, allocated to someone and taken out for a ride. (In Fallout's world, at this point you will be gang raped and fed to the pigs but in the real world ...) During and after the ride you will be given some feedback and pointers. If you fancy the idea then you can sign up, will be allocated an observer and smooth swoopiness comes your way.

Initial session is free. After that it's about £120 to join and that includes all your coaching and your test fees.

If you are serious about coming drop a PM to me, Tomor or Winder with your mobile number and we'll meet you at St.Crispins as it can be a bit intimidating fist time as there will be 200-300 bikes there! Luckily they are all friendly.

[Edit] Obviously when I say fist time I mean first time. However thought I'd leave it in there to generate some interest from the more childish members. you know who you are... and yes, I do know I just said members as well. Grow-up!

TVAM is good Clunk! Being a newbie is probably the best time to go! I'd been riding 12 yrs when I went (with Mark_h) and I still got something out of it, 'tis witchcraft I tell thee!;)

Jammy
15-02-13, 11:48 AM
So so far we have me, dan and simon..

Fallout
15-02-13, 11:54 AM
If it's just us then suggest holiday inn meet.

Jammy
15-02-13, 11:59 AM
This is if Dan can fix his bike in time... if not, it'll just be a late valentines ride for us?

Fallout
15-02-13, 12:05 PM
Odds are all he has to do is attach the crankcase breather pipe, but we'll see. Otherwise let the romance begin! :makelurve:

Spank86
15-02-13, 12:15 PM
let me know if it is a holiday inn meet because i was gonna pop to loomies for a cuppa.

Fallout
15-02-13, 07:09 PM
Well it's never boring riding to Loomies, so reckon we meet at Holiday Inn 11ish as planned, then go down to Loomies for a cuppa with old Spanky cheeks and then head off for a bimble. I'll scope out a good route since there's no Job or Mark. Think I have a nice different one we can take.

Spank86
15-02-13, 07:38 PM
I'll probably be up for a bit of a ride but I need to be home by 2pm latest so can't go far.

Of course if bordtea makes it you'll only be going 400yrds anyway.

Murley.
15-02-13, 07:45 PM
I'm very tempted to join you guys but the SV needs some tlc in the morning. Never know, might see you on the roads.

Fallout
15-02-13, 10:18 PM
What's wrong with evening TLC? I've just been out topping up oil, inflating tyres, lubing the chain and wiping up leaking brake fluid. [-o<

Tomor
15-02-13, 10:19 PM
and wiping up leaking brake fluid. [-o<

hahaha whats wrong now?

Fallout
15-02-13, 10:22 PM
Nah, nothing I don't think. Level in reservoir is fine. Just a little bit of white on bleed nipple. Think it's fluid from where I bled the brakes that has dried, but is possible the callipers are lactating.

Bordtea
15-02-13, 11:35 PM
New problem. Parents have put bike in the garden due to garage conversion which has now started... nice big trench has been dug in the garden and all the mud piled up by the only way out, so unless anyone has a spare crane lying about then I'm not gonna be able to make it :/ ****ed off

Fallout
15-02-13, 11:48 PM
Lame excuse! Dig through it!

Tomor
16-02-13, 12:07 AM
ride over it?

Runako

A plank of wood seems appropriate ...

Jammy

Jammy
16-02-13, 02:32 AM
Holiday inn, 11, right?

Murley.
16-02-13, 07:30 AM
Evening tlc would have been on the cards but my garage has no power running to it. Going to buy a 80 metre extension and chuck it out the flat window :).

Fallout
16-02-13, 09:02 AM
Holiday inn, 11, right?

Yeppers. I'll figure out a little route. Let's consider this an AR training run with the best GM rider as your guide. Wheelies and stoppies expected.

Spank86
16-02-13, 09:20 AM
What time will you be at loomies then?

Fallout

16-02-13, 10:15 AM
Its a touch slippy out there, went out for a quick blast earlier on.

Jammy
16-02-13, 03:42 PM
Good rideout today, first time in months the roads have been more or less bone dry :D

(Forget the bmw)

Murley.
16-02-13, 03:51 PM
Just got back in myself. Still haven't found much in the way of quality roads but I only explored about 140 miles today. Any recommendations on areas that are worth a gander? I had a blast along the a272 but was left a bit disappointed.

Jammy
16-02-13, 03:54 PM
You didnt see an Orange sv650 at any point didya?

Murley.
16-02-13, 04:05 PM
Not sure. I only remember seeing a blue pointy and a silver pointy. That was near loomies.

Jammy
16-02-13, 04:08 PM
We saw them :D

Fallout
16-02-13, 04:26 PM
Yeah, enjoyed that ride. Particular enjoyed going around the outside of you Jammy on the roundabout. :-P I filtered past a flatbed on the way home, then stopped at the lights and they pulled up beside me egging me on. Never done such a great pull away. Just a little bit of wheelspin and front got light and then broke the sound barrier. :D

Just to rub it in - the weather here today was excellent. I got covered in Jeyes Fluid washing down the inside of the greenhouse ready for the growing season. Was OK yesterday too but I left it a bit late to go out test riding my new textile jacket and it was a bit cool after an hour and a half as the sun was setting. I'm not helping am I.

Yeah, it was great riding weather yesterday. Even a numpty like me managed to keep it out the hedgerows. (though my IAM observer may have torn his high vis and need a little stitching done on his leathers.)

Fallout
18-02-13, 10:05 AM
Great weather except for the morning where visibility couldn't have been worse if we were snorkelling in a peat bog. My entire ride there consisted of visor down, wipe wipe wipe, finally decide I'm going to die if I don't put my visor up. Ride for 20 seconds until tears freeze on face. Visor down, warm up, wipe wipe wipe, pray you don't die, visor up ... repeat. Thought Mark would've had a solution in all his TVAM wisdom, but when he turned up with a bright red face and tears frozen to his cheeks I knew better! :D

Mark_h
18-02-13, 10:41 AM
Must say the post-IAM blat was fun though. Especially on the odd dry bit. 10/10 to ClunkintheUK for allowing himself to be taken into the challenging nadgeryness on a first date.

Fallout

And to be fair we didn't hold back either. It was a case of there's a newbie behind us, but he knows we'll wait at junctions so ..... WARP SPEED!!! :D

Yep, sounds like my ride down the M3. "Wow this fog is really thick" -wipe- "oh wait, its my visor."

It did cheer me that the prat in a Porsche Cayman who was trying to race me off the lights, and hooned it at 50 through Richmond town centre was stopped by the police on the motorway.

I think you'll find the correct term is "progressive with sparkle"

That sounds like the working title of "Labour: the musical"
