OK so maybe I was being a bit cynical in my earlier thread about being ripped off for a few roses today.

Romance isn't dead, it just seems that most of us prefer to do it on our own terms rather than being dictated to by Clinton Cards.

So come on then OMO, what's the most romantic thing you have done for your partner, or that they have done for you?

(Please remember we are talking romance here, not smuttiness!)

The Proposal:

Would have been much better if I could have found the picture :(

I put up a banner of A4 sheets proposing to her in our living room where I'd laid out a massive continental breakfast. Probably the single biggest gesture I've done... other than the whole getting married thing.

Spoils the romance if you brag about it afterwards. ;)

You have Zombie Pea Head earrings? Cool.

I think the most romantic thing I've done this year is to check BBC's nipple tassels were securely attached for her. Cos I'm nice like that. :)

I'm not sure where to begin

You can see the romance of our early days in Essex Lounge. Peg began the random ramblings thread with me in mind :smt050

He rode from Ipswich to Whitby, just to meet my eldest and family for the day, then went home

He gave up a tour of Europe, a house, and very well paid job to move and be with me

I suppose going shopping to Leeds and looking in the window of a posh jewellers, with a doorman on the outside and internally.......then buying you an engagement ring after only a very short time, was romantic. My face has never blushed so much.

He sang to me in theater when I was about to have an epidural for my cesarean.

All in all, he's a romantic bloke, in his genes, being Cypriot.

He surprises me with flowers( he makes up for never getting a bunch in my past)
He surprises me with dinners out.:smt050

The list is endless

I love my Pegasus

I wrapped up a French guide book to Paris for chrimbo once, then gave the wife the flight tickets, I'd arranged a long weekend, probably most romantic thing I've done I can remember anyhow.

Once, Chris went to the shops on his 125 to get some tea and brought me back a surprise tub of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food, I didn't suspect a thing! ;)

Hey.....I'm perfectly comfortable saying I love my spouse. More than happy answering a question about romanticism. I'm sure he'd do the same

I told my girlfriend we were off to the Lakes for a weekend. She was a bit surprised at the 4am start and even more so at the 7am flight to Paris. I asked her to marry me as soon as we arrived.

That was back in 2005, we got married in 2007 and we now have our wee boy Noah, and a baby girl due in May.

She's working a night shift tonight, but she left me an M&S steak and a bottle of my fave red wine. That's romantic for her.

I allowed my wife to marry someone far too good for her.

I did that twice - the first time to me, the second time after I divorced the cheating biatch.

Excuse me for being cynical, but I've given up on the concept of love.

Couple of weeks ago, dinner on the beach in Mexico at sunset; 5 courses, champagne, lobster, our own waiter, the works. No occasion, just wanted to treat her.

Valentines day? Fish and Chips in front of Lost on Netflix at home. No card. No chocolates. Nothing.

I don't have when the mood takes me for romantic gestures dictated by a calendar. :)
