Should I do it and do you have any tips?

Right, I've got this awesome arcade controller that I've tried to flog:

I'm considering changing my tack to a more "go big or go home" plan.

I could buy the newer electronics and try to flog it and whilst I'd make it sellable I'd lose out on what I pay for the newer electronics. so my thinking is I buy the electronics and then have a go at building a box for it, carefully researching tried and tested designs (read plagiarising) things like this:

I've got a mini PC which I can mount inside and a couple of old TFTs kicking about for testing purposes, if it worked I'd get a nice one for it.

Has anyone done anything like it before or have any tips?
I've recently acquired my dads router so I figure that will be the most common tool for a lot of it, I'll need a slot bit to cut the edges for the t moulding for instance.

Looking like 18mm MDF would be the material but I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I thought this was cool especially the scolling screen at the top of the cabinet

Also another pi project.

I'd probably use a pc with some mame emulator
