Does the preload adjuster rotate freely?

And is the condition of each end where it is mounted to the bike good?

I haven't actually tried adjusting it as it was already off the bike when purchased but yes both ends are good.

Any chance you could check it adjusts properly? Because that's why I am needing to change my current shock, C-spanner does not turn the preload adjuster.

I haven't got the c spanner, it has been adjusted in the past as its at the hardest setting, I will give it a go tomorrow though.
