My front right hand indicator stopped working and rear was flashing fast. Obviously I went for new bulb. Didn't work. Tried 2 new bulbs.

Checked contacts all clean and outputting voltage on a metre. Removed contact and touched bulb directly with no joy.

What's my next step guys???

Cheers

Get a wiring diagram and carefully trace and check the wires & connectors from the switch to the bulb. It may be a short somewhere or a dodgy connection.

Make sure you are using correct wattage on bulbs. Cheap chinese replacement indicators come with 8W-10W bulbs inside indicator housing.
Swap both LHS indicator bulbs with RHS ones (left pair with right pair, just the bulbs). If you still get fast flash on RHS, check the wiring. If not, you've got wrong bulb on RHS.
The problem is with the design of SV650s flasher. They are bit sensitive with correct wattage and work right in narrow range (21W or 15W as standard per bulb, can't remember exactly now) and if you change them with even slightly less watt demanding bulb (like 10W or 12W) it will flash fast.

I hereby announce this thread resurrected (to prove I have used the search function)

Same issue. Front right indicator not working rear one flashing double time (and dash following suit)

This is about the best thread I could find but it didn't really lead anywhere.

I have swapped my bulbs about and always its a problem with the front right so the bulb is fine. They are all identical stock bulbs. 21w12v etc.

I have taken the socket out (bulb end) and pulled it apart to make sure the wires are all making contact OK.

Checked wires under pillion seat. Don't really know what i'm looking at but I''wiggled stuff'' but TNA

Any Ideas?
