I've looked online a lot but the amount of options are incredible, and without going to check them ALL out I don't know which are reliable or sold by liars et cetera.
Does anybody here know of a car being sold by their family/friends for cheap that they haven't gotten round to putting online yet?
Can be old, ugly, cosmetically damaged. I just want something RELIABLE that a 6'6" chap can fit in. Think old VW Polo: tall, reliable, cheap. I know normally friends and kind folk sell things privately cheaply because it saves the hassle of online selling, and I'm someone honest and friendly looking to make a simple purchase!
In the mean time, here are some funny pictures:

Dad in law's bought a new car yesterday so he's selling his Ford Mondeo Ghia 2l, hatchback metallic gold. 99k miles. One owner. Year MOT and tax til end of April. It was his company car then he kept it when he retired. Always serviced in house at Kier the construction company even after he left. £1300 or make an offer. In Essex.

Budget now up to £7k. Must be a tall car, like an SUV or 4x4, where the seating position is upright (like in a van).
My Dad's got a Nissan X-Trail, it handles pretty well for a 4x4. Should get a decent one for 7k

Liz's Dad has an X-Trail. Feels car like to drive, Spec is decent fuel economy not to bad for what it is. Comfortable and OK on a long distance to. We've taken it to Ireland a couple of times and its fine for motorway work.
I'd buy one if I was in the market for that sort of vehicle.

Great! I've been looking at one! I'll go have a gander tomorrow!
Looking back at this thread your budget will be 20 grand in a few weeks, did you say you were in Stratford? My Dad has been on about selling his x-trail so if you are in the market for one give me a shout. He'll want less than 7k I would have thought

Nope. GF lives in Stratford-upon-Avon. I'm predominantly in Surrey, other home in Swindon.
That would be great! If you could get me some more details about it, that'd be good!
He's decided to hang on to his x-trail for a bit, sorry.

Sorry, but that just wouldn't be comfortable, and I'm not interested in all the other stuff. But thanks for the offer!
