Seriously though the spec of the bike is incredible.. my 675 is a dinosaur compared.
I'm desperate to see what Glen Richards does with it this year with Smiths Triumph.. glad they finally created a factory team !

I like it but i prefer the previous model as I liked the red sub frame but not now it's 'beefed' up and has a plasticy look about it. The rest of it looks wise and supposedly how it handles do make it an awesome bike. Nice sounding too!

I agree about the subframe though, what gets me is that my 675 is such a precision tool with great suspension, speed and handling how could I ever need (not want) a 675R ? I use at best 40% of my bikes complete potential in ways of actual ability.. bring able to effectively use 100% of the 675R you have to be a quality racer imo

I prefer the look of yours, although ohlins and bling factor is nice you're right i certainly wouldn't need it. If i was looking at supersport i would look to get a 675 for reasons above. I fancy doing some miles touring in the next couple of years on one of these.

Stunning bike. Nice to see the exhaust out from under the seat and 'mass centralised'.

what?!?! i think that bike does look good, but not quite as good as the current one just becuase this one doesn't have an underseat exhaust! i am such a sucker for an underseat exhaust. have no idea why, bhave just always loved the look of them!

My OCD loves an underseat exhaust, it makes everything much more symetrical...At a push I can go for cans on both sides of the bike, but I still prefer them underseat!

Love it, always loved the Daytona though. Love my Street too! I'd have a Daytona in a heartbeat but the insurance is super mental in the ****hole area that I live in currently.

Ha ha .
if I'm honest I have been thinking of chopping in the RSV for an under seat 675.
What ever you do don't for your own sake take a test ride on one.

Got to say I prefer the older model too - the new subframe does look weird with the black plastic infills I think, and I don't like the silver plasticky bits around the headlights either. Old one had a much better looking nose.

And I'm with Chris8886 with the underseat exhaust! Perhaps the low-slung unit is good for balance, and thus necessary on the 675R, but for road use surely they could offer a high exhaust on the standard model?

It's not that I dislike under seat pipes. F4's have the best butt in motorcycling, but that 675 has evolved in the right direction as a base for a race bike. I prefer the new model.

As a side note on the underseats
I'm sure the RGV500 and YZR500 had underseats before the NR750 did!!

I've got a Yellow curvy if ducati spray shop gold wheels (Look at the paint on Ducati especially gold, will not match on 2 identical bikes).

Surely a tempest or typhoon or something would be more fitting for a brit bike? :)

I've ridden a 675. Great little engine.

I'd rather have one of those than the new un, simply because of that rear subframe. You can't call something an R when you've got a cost-cutted diecast bit o crap, where previously there was a handsome bit of nicely welded tubing.

Me too. Sadly it makes me look like an obese clown on a monkey bike. These things are physically very small bikes; they look more like a 250 than a 600. They're not as cramped as they look when you're actually on them, but seeing my reflection in the shop window was enough to know it wasn't for me.

The Triple engines are everything I want in a bike, my Street is simply amazing to ride...minus the hard as **** seat haha!

Anyone mind explaining to me how it's suddenly better to have a lower side hung exhaust? I thought the idea of an underseat was to have perfectly centred weight down the middle of the bike rather than a few KG's whapped onto the side...which in my mind surely unbalances things?

Rattynever having trusted triumph that much with there enginering in the past!,but the newest 675 as the base for a serious race/track bike,do you still have to buy every single triumph after market spare to make it reliable as you did with the older bikes, the list that triumph did/does, goes something like this, race shells, camchain, tensioner, pistons, rods, oilpump, cams, valves, gaskets, gears, etc, sorry a bit of a synic when it comes to triumph

650 .

The exhust is heavy.
the main lump of it is mid position.
the sticky out bits light.
If you stuck it under seat its like carry a small sack of spuds.
