Afternoon all,
I just posted of my Galaxy S2 for repair, I did it direct with Samsung through their website rather than go through my network provider (Vodafone) as its still under warranty. The last 2 phones I have asked to be looked at by VF have come back unrepaired and they claim water damage, seems a trend when you read through thteir forum and other tech forums.
It was allocated to a service center up in Norwich but my question is does anyone know the sort of turnaround on repairs? I am currently using my bosses old BB Curve work mobile and it is w**k is comparison.
Cheers
Never sent it off directly but I my S2 was water damaged a few days after I bought it. Gave it to the Carphone Warehouse who sent it off to Samsung and they got it back in about 3 or 4 days.
Samsung said it was beyond economical repair so I took it to a local phone shop who repaired it for £30!!

Really?
Mine is just the external speaker on the back down the bottom has gone funny, even when its turned all the way up its really quiet and as I use my phone as an alarm its pretty useless, the rest of the phone functions normally though just a duff speaker I think. Hopefully they will replace and send back. If not it is insured but I have £50 excess!
This was completely dead and they brought it back to life. Just re-soldered a few things. Probably worth getting someone to look at it first before claiming off the insurance.

I prob will get someone to look at it if Samsung won't repair it before I go to insurance, as I say it still works perfectly in all other respects.
I sent my galaxy back to virgin my fault the screen broke I dropped it when getting out my lorry I told them this and said just please let me know the cost before doing the repair they fixed it (new screen) as a good will thingy couldn't ask for better service than that.
But I do have telly internet phone and 2 mobile contracts with them been with virgin for over ten years so I suppose thats why.
My sister sent off her GS2 and had it back in around 5 days. Hers was the charging port was duff, and it was repaired.

My S2 went of to a place in Scotland before, took about a week, unfortunately I dropped it in a bucket of water on Friday, it has recovered, but still a couple of issues, maybe insurance time if it don't get back to 100%

Were any of you charged for repairs?

Samsung have a two year warranty - did you check to see if you had an authorised repairer near you? We have one in Wycombe. Daughters used-to-death Blackberry-esque phone was simply repaired free on site when the navigation key stopped working. Only took two days for the parts to arrive.

Ah I see I thought it was just 1 year, I've only had it since June last year. I requested the repair through MySamsung at samsung.com and they allocate a repair center in my case it was Norwich even thought there is one closer.
I know they have received the phone this morning

Cool. Look out for an authorised repair shop local to you just in case you need one again - Reading must have one!

What I thought to but nearest one to Reading is in Middlesex. Not only have they repaired my phone they installed the latest software etc. Tbh as I was only without it for 3 days I'd be inclined to send it there again.
