Do you need a licence for that?
Dunno about the UK, but over here you do (Canada, not in the USA, no licence there) training is about 2000 quid over 7-10 days.

So that does look pretty cool. Can easily see the appeal ... but here's an idea .... why not do both?! :D

Training?
What training?
That looks more like something you could do by instinct. :-D

I think you do need a licence in the UK (They fly very close the RAF in the lakes).
B what's it with you and danger sport?

Nope you dont need a licence, you just have to keep away from certain airspace.
Its pretty cool I wouldn't mind having a go.

This always seemed a bit odd to me, a parachute with a lawn mower attached to your back. Couldn't it be done by pedal power to make it more peaceful? pedal powered flight alone isn't really feasible but this might work.

Nope!
The training is probably a good idea though as from what I read it's as skill in the ground handling of the wing than the actual flying.
It looks absolutely ace fun though.

There's one road where we are... and a whole lot of p**sed up Indians! Not a good combo! However, a Trials bike may be on the list! :-)

I stand correct by WB & YC
Be good fun, but I think Otterburn range would hate me

They are my dream toy. I've wanted one for years and years.
Did you see the lads who tried to fly over Everest? Mental.
Pete ;)
Well, when you come over you can have a go on mine! :-)

I would advice training, I've witnessed someone get stuck in a tree and one of my friends has just given up after breaking his nose for a second time on a face plant landing
He was self taught btw
Whassis Number? I want to buy his gear! :-)

Obviously the racing p*sstake about being the flying walrus has been taken literally! :-P

Bloke a few miles down the road has one.
Rides over me house every Saturday in the summer, just as I'm washing the Mrs' car.
And always waves with this big smirking grin.
(Ride your slow plane little man, I'll be on the SV rocketship tomorrow)
I truely think he's afraid of it though. Always rides really slow and not too far off the deck.
Would be awesome to try one.
GoPro would be a must have, standard flight gear.
You're certainly in the right place to enjoy it.

He's just gone back to Afghan last week but I could find out when he gets back (if he still has it). Will be a while though
Yup! Definitely interested!

I'll see if I can get a message to him.
Good stuff! I have to ship the rest of my gear over here later in the year so it wouldn't be a problem to throw it in with that.
Cheers,

I've sent him an email. Not sure when he'll reply but he's a UAV engineer not a soldier so usually near some sort of civilisation (If you can call it that).
